got a scooter. it sat in my backyard for about six months. took forever to get it registered and insured but I did it last week.
I never put gas in it in hopes that it would prevent theft.
After I get it registered and insured I give it gasoline and put the key in the ignition. the fuel gauge rises to Full and the lights/signals all work.
I try to crank it and there is a clicking noise, then nothing. The clicking eventually stops happening, and the battery dies. It had been sitting around too long.
I got the battery replaced today. But when I put the key in the ignition, no fuel Gauge, no lights/signals, nothing. Doesn't crank.
Guy told me I can also kick-start it without a battery. Try to kick-start it. Doesn't work.
While the battery is charging from an outlet, I can put the key in the ignition and the fuel gauge will work. But if I try to use the signals, the scooter buzzes terribly. I won't try and start it while it's charging.
What else can I do? I can't get it looked at because the closest repair shop is miles away and I have no way of getting it there.
Help is appreciated for sure.

check all the fuse lines, wiring and connections, a NEW battery should take a charge and hold it (unless you forgot to pour in the electrolyte) so really it boils down to double checking things and makiing sure the wiring is correct. If the starter is indeed shot you'll have to order a new one but that's a simple (and reasonably cheap) fix too

I also failed to mention a good thorough carb cleaning as well, just because it sat without gas in the tank doesnt mean the rest of the fuel system was empty or didnt have some residual gunk in it. do a fuel line cleaning or replacement and run seafoam through it as well...flush the tank to make sur no dirt or crud is in the filter screen. Doing all of this will solve and save headaches down the road

The small tube directly to the left of the auto choke, is that tube open ended? Hooks to nothing?

It normally bolts to the cvt case but all that tube is used for is a service tube to drain your carb w/o the mess.

If your talking about the black little hose curved down that is a vent for the carb bowl, if it floods fuel will come out of there. The one that has the wire rapped around is the Carb Bowl Drain hose, that type has the drain screw at the end of the hose. Other carbs have the drain screw right next to the drain plug. Wile

If you've never been around a "Chronic Bitcher", consider yourself unusually lucky and sheltered. Were you raised by wolves?
