Posted this earlier; Put LED tail/brake light in trunk (pics to follow) and on scoot itself,. Got socket for bulb at local auto parts store (standard two contact socket for tail/brake light for 1157 bulb) cost $3.50 also put trailer connector in circuit $2.50 to enable removing trunk if need be. Bulbs came from www.autoluminations.com Sidewinder 12 LED economy tower lights RED $4.99 ea. Drilled small hole in body under trunk rack and fished wires to existing tail/brake light socket and tapped in to wires there making sure I had enough wire. Also had to add ground wire from socket in trunk to rack to complete circuit. All wires hidden in old wire loom I found lying around in garage. AND HERE IS THE FINAL RESULT; PM me if anybody has any questions. NOVA1970 DALE

Great job! The more visibility (especially at night) the better.

Looks really nice. It's great you had room to install the 1157. Only had room for strips on mine. Very bright, great install Nova.

I see that other equipment is offered for the LED tail lights to operate properly. Do I have to buy these things, or is it possible for the lights to work without them. U don"t really want to purchase an item then continuously purchase additional items to get the first one to work. --------------------- flexible led striphigh density led strip12v led light bars

Check out my post on LED indicators fitted to Lexmoto gladiator. I have a top box (UK term) fitted. It has a red acrylic trim at the rear. I dismantled it and found there was enough room in the acrylic molding to slide in a red LED strip. I connected the LEDs directly to the brake light wiring so now I have a high level brake light built into the box. These LEDs are a fantastic way of making yourself highly visible both day and night, they draw virtually no current and are so cheap! My next project is to fit two 3-1/2" halogen driving lights to the front fairing. Part of my daily commute takes me through a couple of miles of unlit forest so as Autumn comes on and the nights draw in I'm probably going to need a bit more lighting. I'll wire them through a relay directly to the battery and just use the standard wiring to trigger the relay when I switch to high beam. All told the H3 bulbs in the new lights will draw 110watts so around 10amps. As they're only intended for intermittent high beam use I'm hoping it wont kill the scoots battery!

U don"t really want to purchase an item then continuously purchase additional items to get the first one to work. You only need ballast or electronic flasher for turn signal lights. Tail and/or stop lights require nothing else. --------------------- flexible led striphigh density led strip12v led light bars
