After lots of online research I finally went out to a scooter store. At the first one I went to I found out that I didn't like most of the scooters I had picked online. I ended up finding a used model of a scooter brand I hadn't heard of. It was the best deal at the shop and I like the look and feel of it. My girlfriend says the scooters with sharp lines and stickers look more manly and liked those better...I say it's a scooter, not a sportbike. I like the retro looks of this one. 2010 Puma Rocky 50 50cc 4 stroke 935 miles $1000 for scooter +tax, tag, title and delivery. ($750 for scooter) Thanks tropical scooters in Largo, FL. If I out grow this one I'll probably go back and get a similarly styled 150cc model. I plan on staying 50cc for awhile though.

Did yours come with restrictors on it? How fast will it go? I have only ridden it around the parking lot so far so I'm not sure how fast it is. It will be delivered tomorrow or Friday.

Congrads on new scooter . I have had several including a CF Moto Echarm 150 FI that I bought yesterday . Most of the China scooters have the same engine but the body etc are different . First thing I would do is change is change oil in engine and gearbox . Scooters are alot of fun and there is many upgrades one can do easily and cheap since all are restricted for speed and emissions . I am not familar with Puma but the Flacon 150 looks great . Make sure you wear your helmet and enjoy

Saw it seems like the dealers near me don't stock them though. I may email them tomorrow and see what it would take for them to order one.

Very sharp scooter. I really like the flat seat. It has an '80's design feel to it. That looks to me to be a SCOOTER rather than a "wanna-be-a-sport-bike" design that is very popular now that I don't really like as much. Congratulations!

My odometer says I've put almost 150 miles on the scooter already. I have a feeling it is in kilometers, not miles. Anyways, I have been driving it alot. I got caught in the rain a couple times already too. I'm looking into the 72cc big bore kit to put on here now. My scooter zips around campus and cruises in the upper 30s, but it takes a long time to go from 20+. I've read tons about roller weights and stuff, but for only $150 a could make it much faster. Seems like a deal.

that is up to you on the kit mine was better than stock but it sounds to me like you have the washer in your variator still and scrappydog is much cheaper on the 72cc kit its 89 dollars i think.and they have very fast delivery from las vegas to indiana it takes three days.every other site its a week or more.

I like it. I've said it before, I loathe scooters that look like stealth fighters. But I am somewhat fond of classical and or somewhat boxy classical styling. Really nice clean lines on that one, and it doesn't look like some bastard offspring of an electric shaver.

Like I said before, I really like that Rocky. Enough to post it twice.
Be aware, your scooter will have much more power after it breaks in around 500-1000miles. I have the 72cc kit and really like it. But for improved acceleration, changing the roller weight may have about the same effect. You probably would get better acceleration by dropping a couple grams on your roller weight. Then changing to the "slider" style weight, seems to help mine a lot. Also an inexpensive performance Variator helps quite a bit. Those are 2 things to tune your CVT, and for the price, they are very effective. The other thing I would recomend is ordering a new tuneable carb. IMHO, most scooters can benefit from a larger pilot jet. The jet simply screws in on the bottom of the carb. But most new carbs have the screws blocked.

Well today it wasn't 100* in FL and my scooter feels twice as fast. Cruised at 44 today and made it 25-35 in about half the usual time. I'm kind of skeptical on the weights, because I can feel them spin up quickly already like they are light. It's like a very fast spin to a certain rpm, the slowly drop a few rpms and the slowly gain them up to the max speed.
Overall, I LOVE this scooter.

Hi So very happy to hear that your enjoying her Sounds a lot like my acceleration and cruising speeds Figures they probably are setup a lot alike Just wait and see how they run once broken in I just passed 1000 miles and shes much smoother and quicker off the line Be sure to change the oil, motor and gear at the specified times, i do mine every 250 miles With that in mind she should serve you quite well for many years to come Take care dear friend Yours Hank

GPS test today. Chinameter 35 = 33 Chinameter 40 = 37.5 Speedo is 6ish% off...less than my Jeep with bigger than stock tires haha That's the most accurate Chinomometer I've ever heard of! My Tao Tao is buried at 50MPH when I'm not even doing 40! I love my new Tao Tao...but after hearing such good things about these Pumas from Hank and others here, if I ever needed to replace my Tao Tao, I think I'd try a puma! Really nice-looking coot!
