i'm trying to install the kicker gears in a 150 gy6 motor. sprocket gave me these pics in another thread but they show TWO different timing arrangements  ? WTF, over........  |

These are photos of the ALIGNMENT MARKS, not necessarily the correct positioning.
In the lower picture 3 and 4 are correctly aligned. But in this picture 1 and 2 are not correct.
You start with the left gear. See the mark on gear 2?
Turn gear 2 so that gear 1 goes into gear 2 at the mark indicated...
Then take gear 4 and pull it out a bit and turn it to align with gear 3 at the mark.
Easy once you do it ...

I believe the alignment mark on the kickstarter gear (3) is to align with a punch mark on the idler gear (2). The mark on the idler gear is just a dot that looks like it was made with a center punch. It is kind of hard to notice without knowing it is there. This is referenced in a manual I have for the 150cc engine.
