What a jackass.....LOL. Well, I just need to order a couple jets today. Thanks alot Dave, Lee, and everyone else for helping me sooo much. I just need those mods now Dave...LOL

I got a stock jet and it is running very well now. I do feel a little lean at top end. I am going to get myself an 88 jet for that since the "scooter assasses" didnt send me mine.

Now that my scooter finished with the hard break-in, I was wondering what exactly I should be experiencing? All I notice is that the scooter accelerates faster and goes maybe 5 mph faster than it use to. I still have the stock jetting and open air filter. I do feel a little flat spot when i get her wide open. I have ordered jets from carbparts.com and hope that this will give me more top end.

It sounds like you are experiencing exactly what you should be. Have you switched to synthetic oil yet? It will provide better lubrication and I could tell an ever-so-slight improvement in performance when I switched.....or maybe it was just like my imagination. Whenever I wash my scoot, it runs faster. ;D

I used tip cleaner to increase my jet size on my 49cc qmb139 and it runs weel for a while and dies out then takes off again changed the filter didnt make any differnce I set the nettle valve up one notch and it runs pretty good but not as well as before. I have a stock box with the norkel removed but when I remove the breather tube from the carb it gets worse its should be only about a number 70 if I read the tip cleaner right.

Put the needle back down one notch and then remove the air tube...There are two different jets...a low speed and a high speed. You filed out the low speed and then had too much fuel at the low end. Then when you give it the gas, you are engaging the high speed jet which you just said you raised the clip, cutting off fuel. Then you pulled the air tube and dumped in more air. You need to get back to where you were before you did all this and approach it more scientificly.

Lee, a tip cleaner is like a small round file used for cleaning cutting torch tips.

I did not say that right. I did file the high speed jet. The clip was on the mid notch it ran good for a a min or two and then dies off picking right back up in a awhile the dies off again at wide open. So I pulled the breather tube thinking it was getting to much fuel but it got worse so I put it back on and moved the clip up lowering the nettle. It runs almost as well as before but not quite. So What I am not sure about is if I am geting to much fuel or not enough in the bowl. because I was wide open with the engine at high rpm before it started dieing out. wish I had ordered jets instead of opening up the stock one. Are you talking about the little pin on the float, where the needle valve shuts off the fuel, or are you talking about the throttle stack needle?
|
|
|
Post by Don on Jun 25, 2006 22:22:58 GMT -5
The throttle stack needle when I lower the clip to the middle slot it runs this way. Thought it must be flooding but when I pull the air intake it runs worse so I have no Ideal. I would think it it was the low speed not working with the larger high speed after you had it to wot it would smooth out but thats when it worse. So it has to be the high speed jet I enlarged. I realize when I put the stack needle clip in the highest setting it lowers the needle and the slide has to be farther open before it will raise it.

Well it seems the 150cc have a problem with the auto choke and it's the same auto choke we 50cc and 80cc have so if you are having problems with non-response or slugish reponse try disconecting the choke iif it goes away then do something like remove it.
