No offence but there's nothing RAT ROD about this i don't see any rust at all. A RAT ROD is where you take a bunch of crap and make it into something!!! I guess I should have done a better job of showing you what a pos this thing was before we got started then. ;D

I dunno, black primer or flat paint leaves the bike somewhat unfinished... technically it can be classed as a rat in my humble opinion.

im in the process of workin on one myself a soon to be heavily modded mc71 .my scoot is a ten inch shortcase 150 and after 5300 miles i killed the intake valvespring and its leaking oil from everygasket on the motor so it needs a total rebuild incl;uding spliting the case so i figured i might as well have it bored out while its apart so i started looking for another temporary engine to throw in so i could ride while building the hoss motor , i lucked out and found a a motor out of a vento that was totalled out at 700 miles complete with clutch and variator for 100 bucks got it home and everything transfered to it then relized it was a long case and my ten inch wheel wont fit drum is smaller so now im putting a 13'' rear wheel out back a 10'' up front the rear is lower due to shorter shocks so im gonna lower the front to match well the body is beat up so im gonna go satinblack on the body with red pinstripes ...red and chrome on the wheels , ive got a pair of 50's vwbug headlight assymblies with the slanted glass cover , and myheadlight housing is cracked and broken so im gonna replace it with one of the vw one s and french it into the snout gonna switch to the vespa style handlebars and do away with the gaugepod and just slap either a trailtech or a gps there .......... finnaly got most of the pieces started assymbling it tonight but now ive got too relocate the upper shock mounts so the rear tire doesent rub the bottom of the gas tank so out comes the welder tommorrow ill get some pics of the build and start a new thread i was gonna start one tonight but couldnt find a "new thread" button in the custom section so we will see how it goes lemme throw ya a before pic

I have a bike we have built that I would love to put under custom builds. But... I can not seem to start a new thread and can not post pics under "Custom Builds"?

Post the build in a category of your choice and ask a moderator to move it for you.
PS This scooter was stolen last week..Sad.

Thats what you get when you leave it sitting in a parking lot with a little chain on it for over a year. I warned my customer but he didnt listen to me. Oh well he'll just have to buy another one.

VERY NICE! I'm a sucker for anything "rat"... You can't beat matte-black, red wheels and wide-whites on anything: T-bucket, deuce coupe, lead sled, Harley, or scooter. Very FAST small engine too! I'll bet a number of dawgs and dawgettes with this style scoot (lots of 50's and 150's out there) will be doing similar mods! Especially when they acquire enough road-rash to warrant Bondo and new paint!Flat primer-red or gray would be good too, but the black is tops for eye-appeal. A wild exhaust would be a good cosmetic touch, but not if it interferes with the great performance you're getting now! These things just seem to cry out for brushed aluminum, heat-wrap tape, transparent-color wires and hoses, etc. Please keep us posted on how the whitewall paint holds up. You can find whitewalls for 10-inch wheels if you dig around, but for 12 and 13-inchers you about MUST paint them. And I think many riders with larger wheels will want to try this. I suppose you could do a rat-scoot using an "Asian" style ride, but the "Italian" style is much more in-character. You're only missing one item... a "Mr. Horsepower" ceegar-chewin' woodpecker... or a "Moon-Eyes" decal! LOL! My kind of ride! Enjoy it... Leo in Texas I was surfing around ScootDawg and saw your scooter. I am new to this forum, and really enjoy it very much. Well anyway, I wanted to let you know that I saw a bunch of chrome body parts for your scooter on www.scooterchromeparts.com and I wanted to share the infor with you guys, pretty cool. They have been around for a couple of years. Was wondering if you new about them? I have a Tank scooter scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=downloadattachmentpage&board=questionable&thread=23485&post=277709 I upgraded to a 180cc (high compression) similar to yours. And I purchased a bunch of chrome body parts from them. They are pretty cool folks, and very helpful when it comes to helping you dressup your scooter. Hope this information can help you and others on ScooterDawg. Best of holidays to you, family and friends.

I am new to this site and this is my first time posting so pardon me if I am doing this wrong. I really want to know where you found the caps for the egr thing on the valve cover. I found a site that sells a complete head and cover without the egr but I dont want to spend the time and money on that if I dont have to.
