Very good job done .
FYI if you ever paint these things and are painting in an area were gas can get on them do not use spray cans. Spray can paint just does not hold up to fuel spills well at all. Use automotive grade paint. You can ask for advice from an automotive paint dealer, they may have a specific spray can paint that will hold up, but the stuff you get at the local hardware store or at Autozone/Cragen/O'Rielly's just is not going to do well. This is from personal experience and from consulting professional painters.

Here's a bone. You've built a badace scooter two times now. lol
That new seating setup is awesome, should make wheelies way easier. Be careful getting that wheel up without a helmet.

Belive it or not medman....the paint that was deteriorating was not spraypaint.....it was the top layer of the candy color POWDERCOAT. You wouldnt think a powdercoat would act like that but the thin layer of translucent purple could not stand up to the petrol.
THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENTS!!!

You wouldnt think a powdercoat would act like that but the thin layer of translucent purple could not stand up to the petrol. I guess you know now there are many different types if powder coat and you need to get one that will stand up to your usage. Tell the powder coat shop what it has to resist and hope they know what they are doing. I hope they gave you a big break on the 2nd job after putting a coat on the 1st one that wouldn't hold up to gasoline. Modern paint is a plastic, powder coat is plastic. You can do things with powdercoat that you can't with paint because powdercoat doesn't require solvents, but it's not a miracle.

I'm curious about a couple of things.
Did you consider using a motorcycle type headlight and doing away with the front end plastics? And why is the added frame support brace not symmetrical? It looks like you have two different bends for each side.

+1 more! I'm liking the color scheme, I was thinking about doing mine all white also but decided neon green at the last moment. I am really liking the pegs, I really need to add some pegs to the strada! Love watching your bike take shape, it's so original, awesome wheelie too, looks real easy to do with your riding position. Nice chattin today with you on the phone, can't wait to vacation in N.C.! What kind of dogs do you have? He's looking at your bike in this pic

Awesome job man.... I'm not so sure I'd like the seat though. It could be the angle of the pic, but that little seat just looks PAINFUL!

It's not 'special paint' it's powder coated, and no it's not to make it go faster it's to preserve the frame. It also looks clean, which I'm sure you know nothing about sc00tg0d.

Painting is all about prep work.
The prep is 75% of the job. Spraying the color is the quickest part, but it will look bad if the prep work is not done right.

If you need it to come from a can, Krylon Fusion isn't too bad and sticks to clean plastic well. Remember - the only way to get a decent finish with spray paint is lots and lots of really thin layers, like dusty sprinkle-thin, and let every layer dry completely before putting on the next one.
And it will never, ever look as good as the powder coat on the gecko's frame. That's just what a rattlecan can't do.
