i have not adjusted my shocks but have been thinking about it. I'm 6'4 and 230 lbs. so have been thinking about tightening them up. What do you think? Is it hard? Can I screw it up?

I love my Sym. Smooth and powerful. Just about perfect. My only issue is what I perceive as excess turbuence over the windshield . I'm 6' 4. There is a windshield extender at Laminar available. I'm thinking about buying it. Any thoughts? Do any of you sym rv 250 know how the oil reset light works? Apparently there is an oil change light that comes up on the dash when the SYM is due for an oil change. The you push the button after you've had it done to clear the light. This is according to my dealer.

My husband used a spanner wrench to change the settings on my shocks. It wasn't hard at all. He lowered the shocks because I am 5'2" and needed the seat to go down. The ride is fine. Hope this helps.

It looks like s great scooter. But....my 250B gets 68mpg at mostly 60mph speeds, cost less than 1/2 of that, and price of $5500 for a 250cc wow.... I'm sure my 250B in overall quality and life expectantancy and definitely performance cant compare to this. Not trying to slam any owners it maybe the ultimate 250cc, but for $700-800 more you can get a Burgy 400 or a Majesty. If I was to pony up that kinda money, I think I'd opt for the bigger bike, just my opinion. Am I the only one who noticed that the guy said that was the OUT THE DOOR PRICE. You can NOT get a NEW burg 400 or majesty for 700-800 more. When you buy a bike new from a dealer you have to pay fees like tax, title, license, delivery, pdi, etc. '09 majesty's msrp is 6099, expect to pay around 7200 to get it off the showroom floor. More than just 700-800.

automattic--you are indeed correct on the Burgy price, was quoted $14264.33 for a pair of 400cc Burgys (non-ABS also) which puts them at $7132 ea, almost exactly what you said. I stand corrected that puts the Burgy approx $1500 more not the $7-800 I said originally. My wife was intimidated by the 400cc and higher bikes, but also knows we need more powerful bikes, for longer distance weekend type getaways, than our current 150cc Sunl and 250cc I ride. After reading more about these SYM 250's may see if I can find one locally to test ride, and see how it handles highway cruising. If it can maintain 65-70mph sustained with me on it at 230lbs, my wife at a much lower weigh would be no problem. For me I still think a 400cc or bigger, with the commute and constant higher speeds I travel at probably serve me better. Sorry but I am just alittle leary about another 250 till I actually ride one. There is a big difference in price between this scooter and my 250B, just want to make sure the performance gain is worth the price difference. My wife would probably be happier on a smaller bike and saving over a grand is nice for me. Again this is not intended to upset any owners of this scooter.

Jim, If there is a dealer nearby you may want to take a look at the Hyosung MS3 250. It is comparable or maybe even superior to the Sym RV250. The Hyosung has EFI, ceramic lined cylinders and 4 valves per head. Price is a little lower than the Sym - would be lot less than the Burgie (but of course a lot less machine too). Good luck....

Just ordered me a Laminar lip for my rv 250. I'll let you know if it works or not. Their web page pretty much sez it will change your life. I am anxious to find out. Hey Doncat, Any updates? Please post a picture and the info on the model that you ordered. A buddy of mine is in need. Thanks, Tom

Carter tells me the paint code for the red RV250 is R-010CA. I've asked ColorRite to see if they can translate that into a useful paint produce.

Yes. I don't own one, but the RV is a great scooter and watching many listings, $2500 seem to be about average and $2000 is REALLY good if the scooter is in good shape.

It's been drop on bought sides, crappy speaker install, and it's mouse grey. I'm not really liking the color.
