Ok. So i've had my scoot for about a month now. it is a ROKETA 150cc, chinese made. since i got it i put about 160 miles on it. one day last week i was riding it and pulled it back in my garage. while it was idling before i turned it off, i noticed it was dripping fuel all over the place. i quickly shut it off thinking something was terribly wrong.
i have talked to many people who have told me that it is a float problem or something clogged in the carb. i have since taken the carb apart and cleaned all the parts with carb cleaner. we shall see if this helps.
when i pulled the carb off, the tube that goes down to the valve and cylinder was wet with fuel...this is after being turned off for a week. definitely tells me its getting too much fuel.
My question is...if the carb is not dirty then the problem must be the float...right? Since there is no adjustment for the float should i bend the bracket in that holds the pin for the needle? i dont know if thats a good idea...but a mechanic gave me that idea. if neither of these things are the problem what else could it be? sorry for all the questions and long post, but i really want to get that thing on the road again. so far its been sitting more than its been on the road!!!
thanks for your help!

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Are you talking about the tube that comes from the bottom of the carb, has a spring around it, and goes to the bottom of your frame and has a valve at the end of it? If so, that's your float bowl drain tube. It's designed to allow you to drain your float bowl for storage so gas doesn't sit there and gum everything up. The float bowl isn't supposed to be dry normally, it's supposed to have a little bit of gas sitting in it, and this may be what's leaking. When my wife first bought her scoot, the drain tube had a pinhole in it, which left a puddle when she parked it. Replacing the tube was an easy fix. In fact, the pinhole was so close to one end that a temporary fix was to just cut the tube shorter - until I could get some Goodyear hose on there.

I think he's saying the intake manifold to the engine was wet

YES. it is the tube at the bottom of the float bowl. sorry i didnt mention this earlier, but the fuel comes out of the tube at a steady stream while the engine is cranking over or i am using the kick start. it WILL NOT RUN.

Sounds to me like you need to replace the fuel hose at the bottom of the bowl. Mine did the same thing the other day and the hose had a hole in it near the clamp.

I have a MC 04 150. When I tried to start it when it was new it would not start and gas was coming out of the tube coming from the float bowl. The insides of the valve was missing. I installed a small ball bearing and a bolt to close the valve end of the tube. The float bowl will not fill with gas with the tube open so it won't start. The insides of your valve could have vibrated out.

Thank you everyone for your help. I figured out that the end of the valve on the overfill tube has a small screw on the end. The screw was very loose. I tightened the screw up and my problem was solved. Hopefully this thread can help some Chinese scooter owners.
