Welcome to both of you! You shouldn't be disapointed with the GS-R. Lance makes good scooters and the dealers generally stand behind the product. As I tell everyone, I am a bit biased though Aero

Welcome! You guys made a great choice I think. I also have the GSR 150, and bought mine mainly from the great reviews on this site, and from the experiences I've read about from Aerostudent. I've had no problems with mine so far.

I am curious - did you all do the PDI even if you had the 18 point check on it beforehand?
This is my husband wanting to know. I keep trying to get him on here, but he says he would rather talk through me. Yes, I am the outgoing one of the family.

Yea I need some help putting together a list of things to go over when I first get the scooter! I am sure there are threads on this stuff I'll keep looking for them.

First off make sure you have taken the steps to get your motorcycle license depending on what state you live in, then gather all the required forms and such to get the bike on the road. The MCO usually takes soem time after the bike arrives but is a vital part to gettign your bike on the road.
Second make sure that all your info is ready for your insurance company so that you have all that ready to go for regestration.
third, be prepared and get the gear. This depends on you, but safety should always be the foremost, most states require a standard list of items: Helmet (DOT), gloves, goggles, suitable riding gear.
I use a half helmet due to the fact that I like to hear those around me so I can be more aware.
4th after you get the gear, get the tools. You will most likley (and highly suggested) be doing the work on your bike yourself, and having tools with you at all times is very useful in a pickle.
I have the Lance GSR-150 as well and I put the trunk on the back for extra storage and helemt, and use the underneath the seat for tools and supplies. I am trying to gather a list of useful items to carry on board, but here is a short starting list:
Tool box or tool bag that fits easy under Various size MM ratchet set (crafstmen has one for like 10 that fits in there perfectly) Multihead screwdriver, rathcetein is great Spare Belt Spare Plug Spare lights Electrical tape Bungee cords flashlight funnel PSI gauge Fix a flat---repalce the tire if you use this/ tire repair kit port a pump various spare wire / tubes for emergency problems Leatherman or pocket knife small bottle of oil --- for a pesky leak ---- like I said just the begining I am still working on it, but you never know what is goign to happen once you are on the road
5th spend the time before the scooter comes browsing the forums to see what common problems you are goign to encounter, familiarize yourself with the manuals (you can download the Lance manual online (sorrry no link right now but you can search for it)), familirize your self with what is going to need to be done to the bike in the coming dayss weeks months to get it in tip top shape.
When the bike arrives DO NOT LET THE DRIVER LEAVE, take off the carboard and inspect throughly (who cares if you waste an hour of drivers time, you paid for the bike, inspect for any damage. if there is any, or the bike is simply unacceptable, this is your chance to refuse or get your money back or get a repalcement, because as soon as you sign it off, you say it is okay.
Follow the manuals to setup the bike (install mirrors and trunk) and do a complete head to toe of the bike for everything, loose screws, fuilds et al.
Speaking of fluids---many have thier favorites, but the manual sucks at this:
gas: 90+ octane motor oil: 10W-40 gear oil: (I think I have 75w-90 or 85w-90)
If you work somewhere where you can leave a gas can full safely, I would suggest one there and at your house...
just my 2 cents, you will find many opinions on here...I have only had mine a month a just found this forum last week so this was from my experiance.

Yeah, Im still waiting for mine. Im in Hawaii and this is killing me!! I talked to lance and mine will be here in there factory today or tommorow and shipped to Hawaii next week. I was dissapointed to find that it will not have the digital speedometer but people are telling me that they have problems, including the lance rep, is this true. Am I getting a better deal with the new 2008 GSR and its analog screens? Also, the lance reps are telling me that the new scooters dont come with the trunks, is this true? Anyone who has recieved a new GSR lately, can you tell me if you got a trunk or not with it? I just want my bike allready. If you have a lance with pics, can I see what I can expect?

My GS R150 has digital gauges. I compared the speedometer to my Garmin Nuvi 760 and the Lance was within 1mph of the Garmin's reading. The clock seems to slow down though. I can set it in the morning and by afternoon it'll be over 5 minutes slower. I guess the Chinese figured out a way to stop time.

When the bike arrives DO NOT LET THE DRIVER LEAVE, take off the carboard and inspect throughly (who cares if you waste an hour of drivers time, you paid for the bike, inspect for any damage. The driver cares about his time, and so does his boss. I used to deliver stuff like this and if someone took an hour to inspect a delivery, I'd be long gone, unless they made me a sandwich or something. Any little scratches and dents, not visible from the outside of the box are the shippers problem. I didn't have any problem, my Lance GSR showed up pristine. All those scratches are mine!!

MAN!!! That is one SICK GS-R, all I can say is that it's too much for me, I wouldn't want to have to keep it clean, and I drive mine a LOT (over 6,000miles, and it's 11 months old now).

Wow, that's some serious bling!!!! I really like the front fender. I see that you have significant negative scooby snacks, is that because you only come on here to peddle your wares, or something else?

Most likely all that it is, is a bit too much oil in the scooter. check the oil, and if it is too high, then take some out till it is right, or just change it all. On the dipstick it should be in the middle of the cross hatched area when the dipstick is just resting in (not screwed in), and at the top of the cross hatched area if the dipstick is screwed all the way in.
If it isn't much oil, then it is normal, but if it is a lot, then you probably need to drain some.

Hi, Guys,
I'm new to scooters and to the forum. Ordered my Lance GS-R on June 14 from a local dealer (woohoo!) and impatiently awaiting its arrival. Looking forward to spending a lot less on gas than I do in my 11mpg lifted Jeep Cherokee! I'm curious though--I've read the owner's manual on line and it says to not exceed 20 mph for the first 200 miles--then not more than 30 mph for the next couple hundred... Is this realistic? It'll take me a while to get up to that first 1000 mile point and I'd rather not have bicyclists passing me the first 200 miles! I do not plan on hot-rodding it but ---c'mon? What do you guys think?

AW, there's a lot of discussion on this board about break in. Some think the book is right, others prefer a "hard break in" which is what it sounds like. I'm somewhere in between. I live in MA, and will get killed going 20 mph, I'm just gonna take it easy for the first thousand miles, and leave it at that. I comes down to personal choice, but I think you're on the right track. Just change the oil a lot. Jeff

hey welcome to the 150gs-r club, not really a club, maybe a brotherhood. mine was manf in may2007 by znen.I received it in june and have put 4000 miles on it.the only thingbroken is speedometer cable. It was delivered in tact except you have to install the mirrors, charge the battery overnight, this is a must.install the battery an simply follow the hookup instructions, check the hoses to make sure they are all on there respected places and that the clamps are all the way on.It's certain you want to ride when you get it but charge the battery on a slow chg overnight and you'll be a happy camper.wildbill p.s.check all the nuts and bolts just to make sure.

Hey folks! I plan on starting my own thread when I have more to say about my scooter... I just received my Lance GS-R from County Motorsports (after a two week wait, which wasn't awful) but I don't yet have my Title and MSO. I've driven it 30 miles out in the country and it's a blast (my first scooter!) but I have a couple of critical questions before I can continue the registration and insurance process. Where on the scooter is the Engine # and VIN located? Thank you very much, and I look forward to spending a lot more time on the board!
