Hi, my name's Pete, and I'm an LED addict. My car is littered with them and I've done interior LED conversions for a few people I know. I put a few on the 50cc, now its time for the Titan to get some. Sometimes I feel like I have an LED bubble welling up inside me, and eventually it bursts, resulting in some sort on LED madness. I know Im pushing the grey area on the way to tacky land, but I just can't help myself. The front is almost done, picture this with one more right on top of the front fender ;D The ones on the sides are also wired to flash with the turn signals. Attachments:

I like the idea of more lights, I remember when better cars had cornering lights on the front/side that came on steady, actuated by your turn signal and illuminate that sort of blind dark area your headlights cant as you turn.
I suppose if one replaced the 1157 bulbs with LED's, the savings in amps would be enough to add a couple or more extra LED's and not exceed the current draw the scooter had from the factory. I dont know what the current draw for the 1157's is v/s LED offhand.

Yehudi lights. Those are lights mounted a vehicle to make it difficult to see. WW II submarine hunter planes used them. It cut their visibility the the sub lookouts from eight miles down to two.
There were a couple Harley riders around here that had lots of bright lights on their bikes, and they were really hard to judge how far away and how fast they are going. I don't see them around any more and wonder if they are still alive.
Take care you don't wind up camouflaged instead of conspicuous.

Hi Outstanding You know your vintage war aircraft and practices in war Though that would not apply here "Yehudi". Sealed beam lights were mounted on the leading edge of the wing of a TBM-3D Avenger, and around its engine cowling, with the lamps facing forward. The intensity of the lamps was adjusted to match the background sky as seen from an observer in a surface ship. Its much more then just throwing some lights on and disappearing into the night, it needs to be carefully adjusted to work Take care and drive safely dear friend Yours Hank

Seriously? thats.... odd. I've removed 5 194 bulbs and will have installed 14 LED markers... hopefully the load is close enough. I might try bulb replacement in the brake/turns if I ever find any that don't get cancelled out by the sun in my lamps. I have red on the rear sides too, also wired to blink with the signals. There is one on the tip of the mudflap as well, and also extra brake lights of course but I'm not done with them yet. You can see the rear sides in this pic, and notice how the lower amber ones even light up the ground around them Attachments:

Here's what the lights look like - I found these at Northern Tool & Supply for $6.99 each. They're pretty low profile and don't use any bezel, so they blend in well and almost look like they might be factory. Not on mine though, I tend to go overboard... #8 zinc coated screws with #8 'speed nuts' on the back. Attachments:

Can you give us more information on the LEDs? Where did you get them and how did you wire them to the battery? Very awesome job and I think the idea of being seen at night is very important, I don't believe what you've done will test drivers judgment on your distance, they don't seem super bright.
Would really love to do this with my scooter if I could get some more info on specs! A how to guide for dummy scootdawgs
Kinda a DIY newbie but I too love LEDs. Instead of T5's or Metal halide lighting I use LEDs to power my reef aquarium. It offers amazing colors, dimming controls, low power consumption, and long life makes LEDs something all riders should be interested in. Also I Have seen some super bright LED head lights but they cost a pretty penny

Put a tail light , third brake light (LED) in trunk. Took a little time to hook up but the thing looks good. And I want to be seen !!! I love it! How does it look in the sun? I removed my trunk... it limited my turnaround space on the front patio, lol. Are you riding without your lower rear panels? One of mine is broken and Ive been thinking of leaving them off.

I'd go into detail but its Friday night ;D I just tapped power from the existing lighting wiring nearest to each lamp I added, no need to go to the battery. However, I will need to wire into the battery for the LED strobe module I'll be installing soon, you can see how I prepared for that in the thread for my 150cc, linked in my sig. Have you seen the RGB LED strips and panels you can program with an effects controller? That stuff is getting cheap, and you can make some awesome effects with them for some stimulating ambiance...!

Ya the RBGs are amazing, I just don't know a good place to buy this stuff. I'm so used to looking at LEDs for aquariums which run in the 50-100+ range and usually come with the heatsink and wiring complete. I also don't have a soldering tool which could be a problem. Looks great though and I really want to get some LED's on my scooter. I think a blue led on the bottom would match so nicely and give it a cool glow when I sit somewhere and I also really want to increase my headlight power do not care if it's legal or not, especially if I can control the LED via highbeam switch. I really need some extra boost at night -- we have so many potholes and bumpy roads in Asheville, NC. i've lost fenders, broken my shock mount, crashed, all cuz of poor roads

I put one more on the front fender... I couldn't resist. I still have to finish the rear brake lights and will put the blue underbody LEDs in then too. And I keep forgetting to get a video of the markers flashing with the turn signals... its quite noticeable, lol.

I'm looking for a LED lamp that no one seems to make, but it would be truly useful. I wonder if anyone has ideas?
I want an AA or AAA battery powered LED lamp with a tilt switch. This I want to fix/glue/screw to my the inside-top of my scooter seat, out of the way, so when I open the seat the lamp comes on and I can see what's in there.
Simples... any ideas?

I have some cabinet lights that have a magnet that shuts off the light when the switch is close enough to the magnet. The problem is it uses 3 button batteries. I have seen them at Dollar Tree. I just noticed you are in England so you might not have a Dollar Tree.

hmm... what do you think of this ltdhpp..... its a 30V 500lm ( lumen) led, it gets so hot they had to put it on a ceramic plate... i think the aluminum PCB they usually use would have melted! hmm... now to get a step-up transformer for the scoot...........

It gets that hot?? how much power does it draw? A low-power transformer might not be too expensive ;D But don't look right into that sucker! lol

I like the light that Warren linked too... but personally I would just use something with a switch. I like the idea of a cargo light too... looks like I might need to install a bigger barrier strip, again lol When I went back to Northern Tool they were all sold out of the red lights I need more of to finish the brake lights... "We might have more in a week" they told me... and I wait. The back of my scooter (its like the gray one with the trunk light a few posts up) has a nice large flat-ish blank area, I'm tempted to fill it up!!!

It gets hot enough that i can melt and burn ductape with it in seconds...with the tape a fingers width away. I will test draw at 30v when i get home in 5 hours. I wont look directly at it....anymore. i soldered some wites to it so i can actually aim it away from me. Now i need a transformer and a focusing lense like on the bmws Oh and my trunk has fake brake lights... wont be fake for long
