Advisory troubleshooting guidelines . . . push-button switch failed closed, so starter would energize when either brake lever was pulled. The normal procedue is to pull either brake lever, then push the start button to energize. The little circuit board was deformed from cracking, and the mis-aligned internal push-back spring was "shorting" a closed circuit.

What brings this up? Has this become some sort of common defect lately?
