I've been wanting a scooter for a while. So finally I traded an old suv for a little pink 49cc 2 stroke for my wife. Then I went to the local dealer and put a down pmt on a Qlink Pegasus for me. I have not got the Q home yet. The dealer was leaving on a vacation so have to wait till he's back. We love to camp so we figure the scooters will be a blast there. I would love to ride mine to work ,but it's 25 miles one way so we'll see. My other ride is a Ford F-350 V-10 ,gets a consistant 11 mpg. I figure the Q will do a little better than that. So I'm reading everything I can here to learn what I can about scooting. Great site btw, I'm addicted already. Any advice for a 1st time 50 yr old scooter owner is appreciated.

Welcome Smitty: I am new to the forum to. Been lurking for months and just signed up last week. I have not purchased yet, am still in the research stage concerning 49cc or 150cc and what make. My commute to work is only 7 miles rountrip on 30 and 40mph city streets. I have A Chevy Silverado about 15mph but it still hurts to fill it. We camp also and I figured the scoot would come along. I was just at a camper show here and they had a new Sabre by Palamino and it had a slide out bumper with rack perfect for carrying a scooter. I just bought my camper 2 years ago so the wife said no go but I'll figure soemthing out when I get the scoot. I just turned 50 also must be the in thing to do is look at scoots...lol.....

Welcome smitty58! and golflover has already gained great knowledge for my posts! . Smitty, this is a very friendly place, we try to stay on topic, scooters and other two wheel stuff. We do stray at times, but our excellent moderators allow us good latitude when it comes to topics. Feel free to jump in and make yourself at home, this site has alot of good stuff, like the search feature and the large variety of threads... but the best thing here is the members, always ready and willing to give whatever assistance they can... there are no stupid questions! ;d
