Sup, my name is Kyle, I'm 29, been working in an auto parts store or a dealership since the age of 17. I'm good with a wrench and have built a few engines in my days. I worked for a Toyota dealership in Clarksville, TN for about 3 years, 2 of which i spent as their wiring tech. I have had a few bikes but mostly worked on cars. I hold a sick passion for making slow things go far too fast. I recently lost my license for a fleeing and evading charge so I went out and bought a scooter. It's a 150cc Gy6 clone, and yeah, I almost got arrested again for riding it because of my suspended license. So now I'm waiting for February to roll around to get my driving privileges back but in the mean time I'm trying to build this scooter to the level of evil that will make the devil nervous. I have been looking at forums all over the place and decided to join one and this one was my favorite. I'm sick of not being able to comment and ask questions so here I am. I really look forward to meeting with the members of this board and having some great discussions. Much love, mad respect. One.

New here, but not to scooters. I'm known as Crackhead on the interwebs or Dirty Bastard of the RBSC. Just recently found your forum and am enjoying it.
I'm in Asheville, NC and ride a 2005 Stella. Prior to that I had a Vespa ET4. I look forward to exploring your site and learning as much as I can.

Hi Folks, Shorty here from Glasgow, Scotland. I had been reading the thread on SYM Citycoms and thought this is the business!. I have just traded in a wee Yamaha Cygnus 125 for a new Citycom 300i, which I get on 1st March when our new registrations come out. Will report running in and journey experiences along the way. Twist and go, Shorty.

Newest member, only 7 minutes old... but I'm an old guy with a virulent strain of bike fever, can't seem to shake it on my own, so, I'm gonna shake it with a scooter. So, this makes me an impostor until I get my scoot. I live in New Brunswick, Canada, and right now it is not the season for scootering, however, I've been cruising the net and came across a guy who scoots year round, snow be d****ed, so, I might be tempted to crazy glue my scoot to my butt and leave it there. loll. Seriously, I have high hopes for the upcoming season, and looking forward to getting wheels.

Hey Guys; I'm JC from Houston, rode "bikes back in the day" (read that as a long time ago), got tired of paying the gas for my 4x4 4 dr Tundra. Bought a Roketa 250cc scoot & have put approx 1400 miles on her & the license plate light shorted out on me & the temp gauge just fritzed on me & is bouncing around at 0.......anyone have any suggestions as to what's going on? The fan is coming on, so the engine is being cooled, just bugs me that the temp gauge is wanking! The license plate light melted the plastic cover, pulled the bulb & haven't replace it yet/wiring looks ok, that's no biggie, just curious as to what's up with that as well-? The temp gauge is the real issue. Appreciate any tips. Thanks & safe rides in open air to all. John texasgent7@hotmail.com
Thanks much

Hi, I'm from Rhode Island and I've been riding a Yamaha Chappy since 1977(it still runs fine). I just recently purchased a Eurospeed 150 because my 13 year old daughter and I are very tight on the chappy.

Jerry. When I got my first scooter it was the same way. It would not get out of its own way. For a small amount of money and little work you can put a set of Dr pulley sliders in your scooter and it will help.. Just try to match your weights with the total weight of scooter and rider.
With the sliders you can got a little heavier slider than regular rollers. Bill

Hey guys I hope this is the correct place. My name is John I'm from Queens NY, and yes I'm in a learning curve this the first fourm I have ever been in. I see in the last two weeks some guys in here are really good techs. It looks like there is great information top be had in here.
Well it seems like I will have to live with my weak rear brake, the one with the drum out of round.
So I got into the game in January I bought two longbo scooters when they run they run great one is the Prodgry and the other is the voyger, I thought the engine ant trans were the same, I will take that one on the chin.
Guys thank you for all your help John

Hi all! Nampa, Idaho resident. I'm not a scooter owner, but, my daughter is! she, and her husband, bought a Chinese Paparrazi 150 a couple of years ago. She promptly crashed it HARD on her first time on a road. Broke alot of plastic, key off in the switch and some wiring stuff. Headlight quit working. battery goes dead after a couple of days riding. She was scratched up and dirty but mostly just her pride and spirit was broken. I made some repairs for her. Put the plastic back together, wired the headlight to work with the key on low beam only. Got the ig switch repaired. The battery dead thing got no attempt as I didn't know anything about these.
Finally after sitting for over a year I decided to attempt repairs to the charging system. I searched and found this forum. What a wonderful wealth of information! With the help of a couple of members I will be repairing and making the scoot rideable again this weekend! thank you so much for this forum!
Looking forward to many happy days of scootering!

Hey, I've got a 2003 Honda Reflex bought it in 2007 to run around Yuma on. It had only 4000 miles on it today it turned over 10,000 totally trouble free. Its like a cross between a car and motorcycle just love it, but since my wife got her motorcycle licence I had to go out and buy a Shadow as she's gone all the time on the scoot.

Hey, I just wanted to introduce myself as a brand new scooter owner, and still yet to be scooter rider. The scooter I acquired needs major repair but it is coming along. I'm unable to post a picture of it just yet, but it is a 2008 Jonway YY250T-2. I am just reading everything I can about scooters and trying to piece together what I can from all of the broken info I've come across.
Nice to meet you all and I'm excited to join the community.

I joined in 08 when I bought my two new scooters and have love riding with my wife. I have not been on scootdawg's site since then but now that I have issues with both bikes I am needing some advise. I have tried to find out information online but not many people willingly want to work on Chinese scoots so I am going to attempt to do some of the work my self. if you can help I have a Qlink Commuter 250 that has been running great but all of a sudden it won't start. No spark, nothing! New battery installed this past month. will not turn over

Hi Everyone
I'm new to scooters. I've ridden motorcycles all my life but had a hip replaced last year and can't get on a standard bike now. I ordered 2 Roketa MC-54-250 online and it was not that bad. I did the PDI on the scooters and did not go in and tape the wires and had some problems with the cheap connectors. I found your forum and now I am in the process of replaceing all the electrical connectors. I have about 400 miles on one bike and my daughter still hasn't rode hers yet. Thanks for all the great information.

Hi, I am Sharon, I live in the South Shore area of Massachusetts
This will be my 4th season with my scooter. Once the temperture gets below 60 I put it away for the winter. I have a Beamer 3. I love it, but I bought it new and it never really has run great. The dealer I bought it from went out of business shortly after my new purchase. Could not find another Dealer. reapit shop since. I Rode my scoot a lot the first summer, a little less the next, last summer I couldn't get anywhere without it stalling on my a hundred time.
This year I have high hopes. My darling hubby found a scooter shop and had it tuned up for me. We picked it up yesterday and I rode it for the first time today and it is riding even better then when I first bought it. Yes!! Can't wait to start taking it to work.

Just joined this forum a few weeks ago, so might as well chime in. I had a wee moped way back in a previous life (when I was a teenager). I'm 53 now and 2 years ago decided I wanted to get back on the road (sans clutches and shifting) so bought a new Yamaha Vino 125. Loved her, but missed being able to hit the highway when so inclined. So, traded her in and got a 2005 Yamaha Majesty, 400cc, and love her. Still need to get her checked up, but drove her home 200 mi on the day I bought her, and she purred (well, growled?) all the way home. I love the sense of freedom riding my scoot...wind in my face as I ride along the coast. Look forward to maybe taking a road trip this summer and camp (if it stops raining -- been doing so for almost 2 months now). Anyway, nice meeting y'all, and hope you are all blessed with some clear ridin weather. Gotta go now...I hear there's a sale on rain gear. ;D

New to the whole biking/scooter scene. My ginger found a great deal on a scooter Lance Charming 50cc and we couldn't pass it up. And so Panda the scooter came into our lives. As soon as we (and I really mean HE, RomanIX ) gets it fixed up, I'll get to learn to ride my very first motorized bike. I look forward to learning more about the scooter community and can't wait to dive into it all! Happy Scooting!!

Hey gang, I'm aighead/Austin from Dayton, Ohio. From just the small amount of time I've spent milling around this forum I can already tell it's going to be hugely useful. I'm going be ordering my (almost) cheap as they get scooter tomorrow, so I'm sure I'll have loads of questions. Thanks for providing a ton of info already.
I've only ridden mopeds, small scooters and a rare motorcyle that terrifies me, so it should be interesting to hop on something that will go a decent speed and I'll have to interact with traffic on.
