Hello All, I am a newbie to scootering and the boards. I have a 2007 Lance Venice in Silver. We bought it new last month. I live in Burbank, CA home of the movie people and thier big SUV's. The only people who can still afford gas I guess. I just scoot around town on the weekends and in the evening. I don't see to many people on the boards here in my area. I want to be part of the California group.
Living in the asphalt jungle. Coping with the big @$$ SUV's and the wanna be startletts driving around town putting their make up on. Ugh how safe is it really. Didn't the law go into affect today not Cell Phones. I saw more people on them today then ever. I even saw a scooter go by in North Hollywood taking a cell phone call. All I can SAY is PULL YOU REAR OVER.

Hey guys, finally got my scoot on the road legally! I'm over here by the Cerritos Auto Square near South street and the 605 fwy. Cruised over to Huntington Beach over the weekend and boy was it packed on PCH !! Had about 3-4 peeps ask about my Phoenix saying it was 'large' for a scooter. Does someone own a red Vino 125 in this area? Saw you a few times now

Hi, I'm in Vacaville. I was thinking it would be cool if enough Scooter people could exchange emails to make a "network" of people in different areas. Then anyone traveling to different areas could call someone in that area to ride, or for help.
We could scoot all across the country that way. Anyone scootin' in my area could email me: unknownsoldiervacaville@yahoo.net
See, I listed mine, don't be afraid................

I'm in Rocklin, which is a snooty suburb of Sacramento. I've already been contacted by jrsharp21 who's local to me. Let's get some Sacramento people to do a scooter rally. We'll wear Hawaiian shirts, and propellors on top of our helmets.
And oh yeah I have a YY250T on its way hopefully one day this week. Currently my Tank 50 (just barely) pulls my fat ass around.

I see scoots more and more every day on the way to work (wishing mine was here already). I always wonder if they're part of this forum.

I have no idea about how many California members there are, I started making a list as I see screen names with California in the signature, but it is not very long and a lot of people do not disclose their location. I have a list of about ten active California people.

Hello everyone... Total newb here in Corona, CA! Just had my new Tank Urban Sporty 150 delivered yesterday. I spent the day today uncrating it and doing the recommended PDI, well most of it anyway. I got to ride it a little in the parking lot, a total of 2.6 miles on it now. I am very excited and can't wait to get the MSO so I can get it registered so I can really use it. I did lay it down already as I was riding around a little. Oh well, it was bound to happen sooner or later, or maybe sooner and later. It has been an interesting experience and very educational. Especially since I am not mechanically inclined at all. Somehow I managed to get through it ok. I will try to post a picture here... hopefully it works. Sorry it is not the best picture, the scooter is actually blue and silver. I cannot figure out how to hook up the alarm... Can anyone help me with that? I could not find where to hook up the wires. I have seen a few other scooters around McKinley area and also around Lincoln here in Corona. Have I seen you?

Welcome d, acidburn, pastorjerrys,
Great to have new California Scooterists, I hope you enjoy the board.
Pastorjerrys, I have no idea how to hook up the alarm, but, those alarms have a habit of draining the battery, you might not really want to have it, you can also go buy a better battery and see if that helps if you have the battery drain problem. I'd suggest that you go ask in the 125cc and larger forum for help with the alarm.

Hi Medman, count me in! I will pick up my Lance Venice this Friday from ZenAuto in Sac. BTW, I have never driven a scoot or motorcycle before. I am a little nervous driving it home on Friday.

...BTW, I have never driven a scoot or motorcycle before. I am a little nervous driving it home on Friday. Read up in the safety section and between now and then, get out and ride a bicycle around if you don't already to get used to 2-wheels. -Rich

espirit2too,
Congrats on the new scooter. I'd suggest you go to a large empty parking lot at a church or school, someplace and ride it around some to get the hang of how it goes, stops, what you can do with it before you start riding it on the streets, I know that Sacramento traffic can be pretty bad sometimes and you need to be able to ride well. Also, get a helmet, gloves, riding jacket and jeans.
I added you to the list above.

DMV Update...
Maybe I was fortunate and happened to get the right person, but today I was able to get a temporary registration with my MCO!
The MCO is on the way, but my appointment was today, so I decided to try it anyway. She used the warranty certificate for Tank and accepted that as proof of ownership for now. She also used that as proof of the VIN and Engine Number. She did not even require the scooter to be inspected!
So it is legal for me to drive around now, and I just need to bring in the MCO when I get it. I was very pleasantly surprised to say the least.
