Snorkler & other Floridians!
I guess I am the Southernmost Post, down here in Key West. Just ordered my Chinese 250 Touring and studying up on how to assemble and maintain. This is a great site and a great help for all scooter fanatics. Drop me a line when on your way up or down the Keys.

My last reply to this thread was from Pigeon Forge, TN. Since then we grabbed the opportunity and moved back to Florida---now we are in Navarre, just east of Pensacola. Winter rates are in effect, and we found a RV park right on the water---could never afford summer rates, so my wife is in hog heaven right on the beach. We will be at the Encounter, hope to see some of you dawgs there. Art

Hello everyone, I live in New Port Richey and ride with a bunch of friends on Friday nights around the Clearwater, Tampa, and St. Pete area. We just rode the Barney's ride last weekend and go to Daytona for Bike Week and Biketoberfest every year. If anyone is in the area we are planning a breakfast ride the first Sunday of every month. Let me know.

HI all,
I am in the process of looking for my first scooter. Plan to use it back and forth to work. No major highways over 45 mph. I live in Jacksonville and any input would be appreciated. Thanks

What area of Jacksonville? What roads will you ride? (I'm in Jax also) I live in the Mandarin area. Will mostly be on Scott Mill Rd, Beauclerc, Mandarin Rd and San Jose. All are 30 mph except San Jose which is 45 mph and heavy traffic.

I wouldn't go any less than a 150 if you're riding on San Jose Blvd. You might check out Ron Turner Cycles on Beach. Last time I was there they had some used scoots but the only new ones they had in stock were Burgman, Majesty and some little Yamaha (C3?).

I got a chance to test ride Buddy and Kymco 125s. I liked both bikes. the one difference is the Buddy seat hight is 29 inches and the Kymco is over 30 inches. I'm short should this be a consideration. I am going to look at the Qlink Achilles 150 hopefully next week. They said I could not test drive it. The MSRPs are: Buddy 2600, Kymco 2200 and Achilles 1750. Does anyone have any suggestions. There was good writeup on the Achilles in here. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The QLink may be better than the average China Scoot but based on my second hand knowledge, I would say the Buddy and the Kymco Agility are both superior to the Achilles. On the otherhand, the Achilles is cheaper and probably o.k. for the money.

If I was choosing between those 3 scoots at those prices, I'd take the Kymco.

Rob here in Holiday, FL. Just north of Tarpon Springs on the Gulf; about 30 miles North West of Tampa. Recently purchased an iRoadRunner 150 cc Touring Scooter from evosales.com. Got the usual problems: burnt out headlamp; brake lights that won't go out, and drain my battery; faulty Voltage Regulator - problems that are slowly being solved by searching the Web and talking to GY6 mechanics. Lucky for me, there is a Roketta dealer in Tarpon Springs, and I am able to get generic GY6 parts that work on my bike. Evo sales is getting better, but their PARTS Website is still not functioning correctly. I avoid US 19 in Holiday (AAA's "most dangerous highway") but there are sufficient safer/slower roads that paralel US 19 so that Scooting can still be practical and fun. If anybody out there has an iRoadrunner 150, you can contact me at <earthscoutrob@gmail.com> .
