Hit 5,000 miles with my cheap china scoot today. She's running great. Only new problem is that one of the brake switches went out. I'm awaiting a replacement.
Otherwise all is well. I'm still commuting to work daily and love leaving the SUV parked in the garage. Premium gas here hit $3.65 a gallon and I'm sure its going higher.
Cheers, gary

Ya gotta love that good news. Well done. I sure hate parking my scoot when the weather turns cold here and using my truck to commute.
Good on you and your scoot!

Ya gotta love that good news. Well done. I sure hate parking my scoot when the weather turns cold here and using my truck to commute. Good on you and your scoot! I find that if dressed peoperly, you can ride down to around 35 degrees and surviive it OK.

Glenby - I do occasional short hops on the freeway. But the scoot is really pretty marginal for that. So i try to stay on surface streets as much as I can. Gary

Took off a few body panels last night and found that the fuel filter between the gas tank and the vacuun fuel pump was leaking. It is amazing to me that such a simple and passive device could leak, but I guess this is a pretty common problem.

Gary; If it is the O.E. filter, not unusual. Seems to leak at the seams. Very poor quality and often a little small. We usually recommend immediate replacement. Any decent brand name small engine filter will do. I like the NAPA Gold #3011 - have used them in the last 3 scoots. Be careful about installing with the arrow indicating direction of fuel flow. Will work in reverse but traps stuff on the inside of the filter.

Ollie - Thanks for the recommendation! And yes, it was the OEM filter. Leaked at the seam and a little small just as you said. Gary
