I like the large scooters. I've been down to the yamaha dealer and sat on the majesty and I liked it. I read an ad that stated the aeolus 300 is as close as you can get with half the hurt on my wallet. I'm 6' tall and 236 lbs anyone simillar to my size that can offer me some insight, also what should I expect for a top speed. Thanks!

That scooter seems to be pretty well liked by those that own them, the ads all seem to show different horsepower ratings, but that is not unusual in China Scoot things. At your size, I would calculate that you could probably attain in the high 60s mph maybe even 70. I think a good guess at a cruising pace would be 55-60mph. I am just guessing, there are some folks here that own this model that can tell you far better than I.

Rockyhogg; Initially, the 300 was listed at 22 HP. Now, most sites list it at 18+ HP. The CFMoto 250 engined scoots are listed around 16 HP. Besides the difference of 2 HP and 30 more CCs than the CFMoto engines, there is something else different I haven't yet been able to determine. One website lists the engine as having a 4-valve head. Whatever the difference is, this engine is more powerful over it's entire band of operation than my CFMoto 250. It pulls strongly from a start all the way to 60 mph with no dead spots. I think 75 is a fair top speed for this scoot and engine. With your size, that might drop slightly but not significantly. I still wouldn't consider it an Interstate cruiser. Better go with 400+ CCs for that. I have 900+ miles on mine since this summer and continue to be pleased with it. Gas mileage is about 60 mpg, depending on how you ride it. In your area, with the flat land, it should fly. I believe the Linhai made scoots to be of very good quality for a Chinese scoot. Be aware that these are '06 models and it is not known if they will continue to be available as '08s. You can PM me if you have any other specific questions.
Was just down in San Antonio this past March for my son's graduation from Lackland AFB. Have a cousin in the Pleasanton/Floresville area. Spent a week there and enjoyed it very much.

I am 6' 4" 220 lbs with a Linhai SS300, it fits like a Majesty and will take you down the road with ease. Purchased it from Valley Scooters about 6 weeks ago, now has 300 miles on the odometer. Scoot was delivered without a scratch, runs great with no problems at all, fit and trim is excellent for the money, it's a great buy. So far my top speed is 65, have not been on a highway that I can stretch it out, I have no doubt that it will do 70+. Good luck on your decision.

Rockyhogg,
I own a majesty, it does very well down the interstate highways and for long distance as well. The longest I have been on it is 22 hours with a few breaks in between. I do a lot of long distance ride in a short amount time, this scoot has done well in that department. Yamaha does have some nice financing options for their scooters. Look for hold overs they are cheaper and some dealers will give in to get them off the floor. As for top speed, with your size, you should be able to get 90 or better out of it. I get about 60 to 65 miles to the gallon as well. Also having a yamaha dealer close by is a plus for parts and repairs. I have had mine since May of this year and not had any problems with it. Just one recall. Good luck in finding the perfect scoot.

I’m a big guy myself 6'01ht 245lbs. I am currently riding a Diamo Turista 300 which I think is the same bike. I have been happy with my purchase and not one problem. I have over 3900 miles on it and averaging about 60-70 mpg depending on where I ride.

Cruseman; Good to hear from you about your scoot. Don't have too many of them on the forum. Yes, you are correct, the Turista 300 is the same scoot. Goes by the names of Linhai Mainstreet, Super Strada 300, Aeolus and I think at least one more. Have you replaced the belt or any thing else?

I haven't replaced the drive belt yet but I've been thinking about it soon. I'm not sure of the size?

Same here about size. Stan Jessup sells one for the 257 cc Linhai powered scoots but we don't know if it will also fit the 300. Most likely will but nobody has cracked open the CVT case to check. I told him I would check it sometime this Winter. CVT belts on the high end scoots seem to last a long time. The brand on my CFMoto powered Bali 250 is Bando and at 2300 Kms looks like new.
