Well, being a Newbie to the Scooter world, I've taken on a bit more than I can chew.
That being said, I've come down to a deciding point.
The 300cc Strada or the Commuter 250.
If anyone would like to chime in and tell me your experiences with these, the dealers, etc. I would certainly love to hear from you.
Here's the plan:
1. Gas prices skyrocketing, I really need to drive my guzzler less. The plan is for the scoot to be the primary transportation to and from work every day except those days where I might get hailed on. Then it's the guzzler.
2. Have one of the two for me, my wife already has a CF Moto Fashion 250, and get another 150cc scoot for my teen daughter. We would like to be able to take weekend afternoon rides out to about 60 or 70 miles away, eat lunch, visit friends, or what have you, and reurn in the evening. Really make an afternoon family outing of it.
3. 65 mph cruising speed would be great. I don't see a need to go much faster than that, we won't be on the Interstate.
4. with all this, reliability is a key factor. price being the next factor. A maintenance manual would be very nice. Getting these licensed in Oklahoma is not a big problem.
Yes, I've poured over the forum, gleaning all the information I can find. I've spoken to owners of the scoots I'm looking at and even spoken to a couple of online dealers that come recommended.
What I would really like to know is how you riders out there feel about your scoot!
