any one know how to trip the seat lock on an mc-54-250B?? i can feel the cable with my hand under the fairing and when i turn the key i feel the part that pulls the cable. i am thinking i should just pull the cable from the key lock so i can unlock the seat. any help here would be much appriciated. scootondown

My mc-54 seat has two locking points. One is by the key and one is at the rear of the seat. Thats the one the long cable trips when the key is turned. You might be able to apply some weight to the seat to help the lock trip easier. If the cable has come loose anywhere, you will probably have to take some of the plastic loose to get at it. I had a lot of trouble getting mine to work right because of misalignment from the factory.

Ok, let me rephrase that. Mine has a cable from the key to the front seat lock and when you release that one there is a cable that goes to the rear lock and releases that one. It's kind of a micky mouse system but once you have it in sync it works pretty good. It's just a pain to get them in sync once they are out of alighment. Hope this helps.

OK, I went and looked at mine again. If you could get hold of the cable at the key, it should release both locks. On mine I simply can not get my fat fingers anywhere near the lock assy. Sorry I'm not more help.

The primary lock cable at the key pulls toward the rear. I really don't see any good way to reach it though.
