There is a clear plastic tube that appears to be coming off the housing for the air cleaner. The tube is about 4 inches in length. The end of the tube has a plug on it so this tube does not connect to anything. It just hangs of the back of the scooter.
Somehow the plastic fitting where this tube connects to the air cleaner housing has cracked and that has created a big hole between the air cleaner housing and the tube. I can't imagine how this happened because the tube is very flexible and movement of the tube does not put any stress on the plasting fitting. I think it is just poor quality plastic.
Is this hole going to create a problem for me?

It sounds like a air cleaner drain. Every oil change you remove the plug at the bottom of the hose to drain any oil or moisture from the air cleaner.
If your air cleaner box has a hole in it you need to fix it or you're sucking dirt into the engine.

Typically these are level indicators of dirt or moisture in the air filter case.

It is a oil catch for blow by. If oil collects in the tube simply drain it out by pulling the plug out of the bottom of the tube , let oil drain out and then replace the plug. Simple as that. I have yet to see anything in my Eurojet, it is clean as the day I uncrated it. No blow by. I used the hard break in method www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htmUse PC-7 or a similar glue and repair the fitting and replace the tube.

This is probably correct but it would have been helpful if you had posted a pic and given us type of scooter. Many GY6 scoots have a crankcase vent that is routed back to the air cleaner and back into the engine for emission purposes. A smaller air filter filters out any oil in the gasses and then it runs down that tube so you can dispose of it properly. From what you describe, I don't think it will cause you trouble.

Sorry I could not post a picture. The scooter is in the shop right now having the rear wheel looked at because it is loose. When I get the scooter back I will post a picture of the problem. Thanks for your help.
