Hi automattic, welcome to the pound. Seems like I've seen your name on another forum or two. I haven't ridden the P S250 but it is a very nice looking machine. Kymco quality is hard to beat. I'll tell you that I'm totally sold on 16" wheels. I think it's a scooter you would not regret.

Thanks alot but I think I have seen that review before. But I was more so looking for a review of the People S 250 which I'm sure is probably similar mechanically to the People 250. |

The People S 250 is different from the regular People 250. I haven't had a chance to read up on the difference but it's a few hundred $ worth.

Aaron Yes, I had the non "S" People 250. From what I hear there is more than just a cosmetic difference between the 2 models. A couple of differences are dual front disk brakes on the S vs. single disk on the non-S, slightly higher HP (+2) on the S model and a slightly larger gas tank. Personally I like the style of the S model much more than the non-S. If I were looking at those 2 scoots I would pay the few extra hundred and go with the S model. |

Yeah the S model is the one I'm interested in. I like the styling better. From pictures of it I noticed another difference is the S model has the gas tank in the floor board as opposed to the front leg shiel of the non S model.

The one thing that would make any people 250 a no go for me is the small gas tank. I like to take long rides on the weekends. I like a bike that can go 200 miles between fill ups.

Real hard to go wrong with the People S 250 auttomatic!! Congrats on a great scooter. Problem with long term reviews is either you don't want to give them back, or they are outdated before the review is done. Man they are putting out new models fast. Lets hope for better and better scoots every month next year.

Scooter Rider Magazine has been sold. The right to produce Scooter Rider Magazine, after December 31 2006, is being passed onto new ownership. Information regarding this new publication will be presented here as available.
It goes on to say that they are not passing on subscriber information to the new owners so they are giving refunds to everyone whose subscription goes into 2007. There is an intimation that there will be something published on the web by the current publisher (BJ Strass) but no indication whatsoever what the new owners plan to do, if anything.

How's it goin' bud? I'm glad You found Your way over to this forum. I sold My RX to My roomy for 1500$, and it still runs great with 1500 miles on it. But I like the v5 a WHOLE bunch better. It's really comfortable, and quiet, and FAST  |

Just got the bike 5 min. ago delivered to my house! The bike is more than I expected. It is way heavier than I expected too. The engine is very quiet, just hums along at idle. Very spacious and alot of room. I'm 6'1" and wear size 13-14 shoes and I am comfortable on the bike. I took it in the garage cuz it is raining. First thing I noticed on the bike was that the rear tail light is not the LED type that I see in the pictures on the net. Some things I noticed while on the bike while it was idling in my garage:
*The headlights have dual bulbs and seem to be pretty bright. There is a trigger on the left handlebar that you pull back with your pointer finger to flash the high beams for passing.
*When the bike is on and you put the kickstand down the bike turns off automatically.
*Underseat storage is way bigger than I thought it was going to be. In the pictures online I saw it seemed way smaller. But my XXXL HJC CL-Max would not fit. Not surprised though. If there was about 2 more inches of clearance in the height it would probably fit.
*Yes a toolkit is included.
*This bike doesnt seem to have emergency flashers.
I can't wait to ride it. It is raining but tommorrow there is supposed to be no rain but kind of chilly. That won't stop me from riding though. I will try to do a full review of the bike when I ride it and I will post pictures.

I cannot remember if the P250 had the same button. Isn't it a DOT requirement to have flashers? As far as the pics online being different that is the same thing with the Xciting. Most of the pics on the web are the European version and to meet DOT requirements some things have to change. Not sure why they would not have LED's because my Xciting has LED's as do many motorcycles so that would not be a change required by DOT. Also most of the online pics of the Xciting have the mirrors integrated in the fairing which looks cool but the US version has standard handlebar mounted mirrors and I was told it was because the other mirrors were not up to DOT specs. Anyway can you post some pics? I hope the rain lets up for you soon ;D |

I just rode it around the block the same day I got it but Saturday I got a chance to ride. Was kind of chilly but fairly dry. The bike has great power that comes on smoothly. You can barely tell your picking up speed unless you look at the speedometer and see the needle rising quick! Midrange acceleration is great. This bike gets up to 60 in a matter of seconds. Took it on the freeway and was cruising in the 60-70 mph range. I'm getting used to turning this bike. When I first rode it felt kind of funny because the front end on this bike is heavier than on my RX200HP. The bigger wheel/tire combo and front mounted radiator are probably the key factors. I also like how the turn signals have a buzzer to remind you that they are on.
One of the things that stand out on this bike when you ride it is the suspension. The bike rides like its on air. Way better than my rx200hp. This bike soaks up the bumps and I like how the rear suspension lets you adjust pre-load. The suspension on my rx200hp was more of a springy ride where as the PS250 is more cushiony (for lack of a better word). It started getting dark and the twin Philips 35W headlights really made a nice little path in front of me. The twin 18W on my rx200hp were pretty dim.
Another thing you'll notice when riding this biike is how quiet it is. Just purrs when idleing and cruising. Overall this bike compared to my chinese import rx200hp is like night and day, excluding the fact that the PS250 has the bigger more powerful engine because the rx200hp is a 150cc. The attention to detail, the quality, and ride are far superior on the Kymco. I am in no way bashing the chinese import bikes, because for the money these bikes can get the job done. My rx200hp sure did. I put 1100 miles on it last summer. Got me back and forth to work and around town. Was down for only about a week due to a broken muffler bracket that Powersports Factory sent to me promptly for free. I can recommend the 2007 Kymco People S 250. This bike is great. Too bad its raining today. But look for a full review and pics from me in a seperate thread. Just waiting for a nice bright day.

A couple of years ago, I rode in a ralley next to a People 250. I had never seen the 250 before. That was such a quiet scooter compared to my Yamaha Zuma and all of the other 2 strokes. It was very eerie. The rider was the regional rep for Kymco. He was a happy dude with a cool job.
I thought the People was the coolest. You will love it Automattic. Congrats from Mass.

Sometimes I forget about this 200cc board  . That bike looks really sharp buddy, I love the silver color. That's the color I wanted for my bike, but I didn't feel like waiting 3 or 4 months. Now its gotten too cold and icy to ride...can't wait 'til spring |
