Saturday after waiting 4 hours at the dealer (3 to put it together). Rode it straight to the house and parked it.
Sunday it was suppose to rain so I kept it in the garage.
Yesterday I was going for a cruise, dead battery. Charged it enough to get it started, rode about eight miles. At every stop it wanted to die so went home and put it on the trickle charger overnight. Rode to work this morning. Break-in is 4000 rpm max for first 600 miles, which is about 35 mph (kind of like driving a 50 CC moped).
E-mailed photos to myself last night to work computer, but am unable to down load them to the hard drive. Will try to post them later this week.
Hate to say it but the Burgman makes my 2006 LinHai feel like a piece of Chinese junk it was, Burgman rides like a dream.

I'd ignore their break-in if it restricted me to 35mph for 600 miles (17 hrs!). Just don't keep it at a single RPM for long periods of time and change that oil now and in another 300 miles.
Congrats on the new bike.

I agree. Don't worry about going too fast. Just make sure you vary the RPM's a lot. There is a lot of evidence that this is the superior break-in method.

You're going to love your Burger400!! Replace 18gm weights in CVT with 16gm, and you'll love it even more. See also www.burgmanusa.com.

smeagol, As others have said go with the hard break-in. The manufacturer's recommended break-in method is not worth the paper it is printed on. This may be up for debate but breaking in a new engine using the manufacturers method may actually cause your engine to have less power. Piston rings will not seat and seal correctly. You can read all about it here: www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htmMake sure you engine is up to temp and then blast the sh!t out of it ;D

A couple of threads below this one. Break-in is done. Somewhere between factory and hard break-in. Runs great to at least 85 mph. Will try and find road less traveled and smooth to get it above 90 mph.

When a kid on a 600cc sportbike zips past you, fall in formation behind him on your "overgrown moped". Has to drive 'em nuts.
