Hey guys I was just reading a post on scooterbbs and there is a guy waiting for his dealer to get a shipment of new Kymcos. He is not certain but supposedly this shipment will contain the 07' model of the S People 250. I have attached a picture. I love it. A lot more edgy and I like the color (the 06' People only comes in wine or grey). Looks like an 06' People on steroids. I would much rather get my hands on this 07' version than the 06' I am picking up on Friday. My question is when do manufacturers usually release the following years models? Is it possible that this guy's dealer is really getting a shipment of 07's or is that a bunch of bull (he did say that this shipment has been delayed and he threatened to go to a different dealer, maybe they are telling him this to keep him from going elsewhere)? The main Kymco USA site does not even have pics of the 07' up yet so how can a dealer be selling it? If anyone know anything about this please let me know.
Thanks, Dave

Guys you can disregard my last post. I got so excited when I read that post on scooterbbs that I immediately went to the link they provided to check out the pics. Those got me even more excited so I made my post on this forum. After doing so I went back to scooterbbs and did what I should have done the first time - read all of the replies to the original post! It turns out that the shipment this guy was waiting for did come in and guess what? - no 07' models. It seems that Kymco will be releasing the 07's in September maybe as early as July. The S People 250 is going to be about $400 more. Not sure if this will replace the current version of the People or be offered in addition as a sport model. Either way I love it but I cannot wait until September to get my scoot so I ill be picking up my 06' on Friday. Once they do come out I will look into trading mine it for the 07'. I know I will take a huge hit but I might not be able to resist - I just fell in love with it as soon as I saw the pics. There is really no other scooter like it that I know of. It has that retro style with a modern edge to it. Anyway I will just have to wait. Talk to you guys later. By the way of you want to check out the rest of the 07' S People pics you can do so here: www.motorbox.com/Moto/Magazine/KymcoPeopleS250_anteprima.html?mmc=49Dave

ACD,
Yes it is hot! I dont think I will be able to resist trading up when they come in. Listen to me - I am buying my first scooter that I have not even picked up yet (cannot wait until Friday) and I am already talking about trading it in for a newer model. I think I have to relax a bit and take a step back. It is a cool looking scoot though!
By the way I noticed you are in ME. I am in MA. Looks like we have a little New England connection going on here. Any other Dawgs from MA or New England?

Rank is based on the # of posts you make. I may have to change the scale though. Folks are climbing the ranks too fast.

KYMCo's got some nice stuff, some we'll be gettling like the People S and the Xciting, and some we don't, like the Activ 125, take a look over here for some great pics: www.kymco.es/scooters/gama.html

Sat on a 250 People yesterday after dropping off the Burgman for the 600 mile inspection. I guess after riding low slung scooters for the last 4 months, it made the 250 People feel like I was in a truck. It just sat too high for me.

Wow! Great pics of the new People S 250! Looks like they've taken some design concepts from the Xciting and added them to the People with what IMHO are great results! As far as the rankings, Whatever works, I just make my own decisions and let the number of postings take care of themselves. When I ran a forum about 15 years ago on a small regional BBS, I made sure that people realized that the rankings were just the number of postings and that the higher ranking people could probably help you with learning the BBS system, but the rankings had nothing to do with actual expertise on the subject matter. That was just something the users would have to make their own decisions about by examining posts and responses. It generally worked out ok. I wouldn't worry too much about people rising quickly through the ranks. In general, that just shows enthusiasm. I have to say I'm a little enthused at no longer being a Puppy Dawg Lugh

Lugh, at the rate you are posting, you will be a great big guru dawg in no time. Hell, I wanted to rise through the ranks like everyone else but I have no control. The software just stuck me in with a big important looking "Admin" label. I can't even admin. my leaky tub faucet. And now, my girlfriend wants me to install a ceiling fan. Took me two weeks to install her garage opener.
