2009 jonway M80 150cc gy6 based.... Has a factory jap style carb,.. i have replaced it once already because it has had issues with the float sticking.... I diag the issue by seeing that the brass bushing that guides the needle plug was wearing from vibration and the sides on the needle were grooving the inside of that brass guide and was haning up on the sides of the ribs of the needle, anyway, its now happened again to the new stock carb...
SOOOO
what i need to know is...
1.) would there be a huge or nticable difference in performance between a new stock carb with the right jet and the 30mm cvk carb on partsforscooters? one is 50 stock, the other is 149$ for 30mm.
2) would i notince the diff if i do ro DO NOT use the HP intake ?
3) what would the quality diff be between the two?
if it will last way longer and give good performance increase it would be worth not replacing a 50 dollar carb 3 more times.... I know since i have a very open carbon pipe, and tube header with open air filter and hp plug, cdi, and wire....i will need to rejet the stock jet in either carb, im using a 114 in mine now, really need like 110 or 111.... how would jet size differ in cvk vs stock?
i dont think i want to spend 190 on a hoca 32mm because i just dont need to spend that much. im bout broke, coll student, on a bad budget. i dont think that extra $ is really going to get me the appropriate gains for the money... i could be wrong..
anyway thanks in advance... mike

Stock carb flows plenty of air for a stock displacement engine, you won't notice any difference. Sounds like I have a similar setup, a 110 was not enough, a 114 is what I run.

For a 150 even bored out a 24mm carb is plenty with re-jetting. A 30+ carb for a 150 is overkill and you will have problems with the bigger venturi.
A stock motor can only take so much gas and air. To get the motor to take more gas and air for it to produce more power you have to first have bigger valves for one thing and more displacement otherwise you will just flood the thing and actually loose some of the power the motor intially was putting out.
Just to give you a good example On my 150 with 62mm bbk and 60mm stroker crank and every performance part you can think of even taller gears in the tranny. I have a 24mm carb with a 5" velocity stack and a K&N filter with a #38 pilot and a 122.5 main runs like a raped ape. Lefty

I have a Keihin 24mm carb, its a great carb and way better than the stock carb. Or will be easy on your pocket.
