Ok.. another problem I guess I could throw out..
One of my scooters was leaking oil. I finally figured it out. It was coming out of the air filter box where the purge tube comes off.
I got rid of the whole air filter and put in a high performance air filter. With the purge tube, I just shoved the tube coming out of the engine into it. Now there is no leak, but the purge tube fills up too fast.
The oil is not overfilled, so I don't know why it does this so bad.
Any suggestions what to do with this tube now that I put the new air filter on it.
ps... the new air filter made a huge difference.

Check and see if the hose has any kinks or sharp turns restricting the venting. If you say it is not being overfilled then your getting a lot of pressure in the crankcase for it to do that.
The Valve on the Valve cover may be partially clogged, it acts just like a PCV vale on cars they put them in the Valve covers to relieve the pressure so it doesn't blow out the Valve cover gaskets. Lefty

Hmm... It was leaking out of the cover and I had to replace the gasket. That fixed that leak.
But it must be a pressure thing.
What might be clogged again? I don't understand that part.

See that Valve on top of the COVER that is where your hose connects to. Well under the cover is a plate that covers the valve exit so as not to throw out to much oil. You would need to take the cover off and BLOW throuh it to make sure it is not clogged. Lefty

That's just it... It's not clogged. Plenty of oil spilling out of it.
Maybe it's stuck open?

Hmmm... missing... I did take the cover off and gapped the valves, and I don't remember seeing any valve going to the hose. Then again, I wasn't looking nor do I know what to look for.

Good point scootnwinn, the plate could be missing or have wide open spots around the plate. I have seen some come with Like JB weld all around the plate to close it up. Well you can take it off and take a picture of the underside of the cover you cannot miss it. Lefty

It's not easy to get to that thing to get it off. A lot of pieces have to come off.
But thanks, I will check into it.
