I have a Chinese scooter, Die41qmb engine. I bought it with no spark, I replaced the coil and now I have good spark. compression is good as far as I can tell, itll blow my finger off the hole... i can put gas in the carb or cylinder and I still get no fire, i can smell the gas burning off. smells like it running. what am I doing wrong here?

Have ya tryed cleaning the carb. and reset the valves. maybe replace all the air and gas lines. If its a older scoot I would get new carb,

well, last I had it running was september, so the carb may need cleaning. but if im putting it in the cylinder it should fire off that gas, even if its not getting more. and it is a two stroke as far as valves go. its not a cdi unit. TCI i think... any chance im firing on exhaust stroke? i would fire even if i dont have 100% compression right? ive never really worked on a two stroke under 300cc so i guess you can say im new lol Thanks!

If compression is low usually 100 and below it will not run.
Yes, if you put a little gas straight into the intake and if you have spark and descent compression it should of FIRED if only once.
Coud be your REED VALVE that is shot have you checked the reed valve? Lefty

ok i got it to fire, very faint low compression fire, what i feared... i had a guy hone it, and he got an earful when i caught him honing it while on it side, so my bet is my cylinder is square, what steps do i need to fix this? can i get it honed again or do i need a bare? or what? thanks
