OK so i bought a ruckus clone it wouldn't go over 25 30 it was getting to much air so i ghetto rigged a plug(pen cap) for a week or two while the jets came in the mail it got up to 40-42 unverified while waiting. so stock jet was 82 went to 85 now. got a new plug and performance coil also performance cdi. now it gets between 35 and 40 depending on wind conditions without the ghetto plug now. i was wondering what else i could do without a bbk. maybe a cam with exhaust. the way the air intake is set up now its like ramming cold air in while driving so i didn't want to do a uni filter because the colder the air the more power the engine makes at least on any other slightly bigger engine. i know i need to tune the weights but i haven't opened it up yet to see what size and the stock weights are. so besides that what else could i do.

35 to 40 is about all the speed you will get without installing a big bore kit. Don't get a performance exhaust without a big bore kit otherwise you might lose speed. Slider weights are your best bet to get more speed without a big bore kit.

Try using diff variator weights then go with sliders instead of rollers

for more air you can drill a few holes in the stock air box .

thats the thing is when i take out the plug in the front of the air box its like its getting to much air and not letting enough out. and with the efi kit can that run on ac pulse? and does it need a computer to run? also one more lol how hard is it to tune? some on cars and trucks are difficult and tricky.

Tuning your variator wont help much on your ruckus clone. The ruckus' aren't aerodynamic and the clones are heavy ,but they do look good! As for the variator yes it has a concave or dish shape to it. Its' shape is so the belt has a tapered surface to ride up.

My carb is sealed... I think that's going to be my last upgrade unless I tinker with air/exhaust is just getting a new carb for bigger jets. Good onya for those speeds. Also you may find that changing your gasoline type/ grade can make a difference. I picked up more stable performance and get better gas mileage by dropping down from 93 to 89 (87 was too low). Windshields also help top end.
