I had another valve stem failure. Didn't even last one year after I replaced it.. I got to thinking about the trucks and trailers at work with valve stems that have failed, then remembered, I never changed the valve stems on one car after I put some of these in many years back, and same type has been on my harley since I got it over 8 years ago with no problem. I found 'em at Advance auto parts $6 for 2. Attachments:

That's a really fuzzy picture. What is it? I might go ahead and get some for when my tires need replacing.

Are there any disadvantages to those?

i dont see any disadvantage aside from you need to tighten the bolt once maybe every 6month cause the rubber part that goes inside the tire wears out and flattens due to air pressure, so you need to baby tighten it to prevent air leak. other than that its pretty much a lifetime thingy. unless if you live in seattle where it rains everyday(myth) its going to rust out sooner.

Went to the kurvygirl site and the lady was extremely nice. Thanks for the link to the all metal two-piece stem set. 5bucks a pop or 10 for two isn't bad attall. I use dyna beads and she is even going to bounce it off her tech guy and will call back tomorrow...great service. Either way beads or no beads it's a good deal..
