Hi all, I've been reading a lot of the info on this website and I have decided the mods I want to do. I ultimately want to do a bbk, an a9 cam(I think) and regear. I'm thinking the regear would be the last thing to do but which of the other two would you do first if you weren't doing all the mods at the same time? -Thanks E.J.

Do you suggested doing them at the same time because if its tore apart anyway its easier or another reason? Also I see you have an a9 cam. Do you like it? Or would you recommend there a10 or like a8 or something else?

Its tore apart so do it then, the a9 cam is a great cam much better than stock, it will lower your rpms you may have to adjust your weights. Improved torque mid range and top end was a great buy.

I know its best to do one thing at a time, but actually those three mods i'd do all at the same time, the cam and the gears will affect your rpms, both the cam and the gears lower your rpms. So i'd do them all at once so you could tune your weights in once instead of two or three times.

I was afraid that's what you'd say haha. Just being a college kid on a budget its a lot to drop money for all three plus different jets and rollers. About how long does it take most to do a bbk? I'm mechanically inclined but never done this kind of work before

Depends on what your trying to achieve, you can do without the gears and still get close to 50 gps or right at it. It took me 3 hours or so the first time, i've done over 20 now and can do them in 30 minutes. Take your time and use this 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/350/big-bore-kit-installation guide its not hard.

Thanks for the link. And three hours isn't bad, knowing that I'm sure I could do it in an afternoon. Thank you so much. And if I understand it right the cam comes out when you do the bbk so putting an a9 in will just vbe like installing stock cam right?

yep if you do the a9 cam it would be the same deal, no different operation.
