Hi there, So I have a QMB139/GY6 Meitian pretty standard 50cc scooter, and the exhaust pipe broke- it snapped right off and a bolt snapped in the place where the muffler was held onto the frame. I got the bolt out, and removed the old muffler (the bottom half below the snapped pipe). I bought a replacement muffler which came as a one piece set including the exhaust pipe assembly. It appears to match mine relatively closely. The issue I'm having is trying to remove the old exhaust pipe where it's attached to the bike. I managed to remove one of these screw covers (looks like this: partsforscooters.com/140-16__Exhaust__Cap__Nuts?sc=31&category=132548) only to find a screw without a head underneath. I'm not sure how to remove this. It seems likely I need to come at this from the other side? I'm not sure how much of the bike I need to take apart to do this. My other issue is the screw cover on the other side is pretty close to the exhaust pipe and I can't get a good angle to remove it... In any case, has anyone removed/replaced an exhaust and muffler on one of these bikes before? How much did you have to remove? How did you get at the screws? Any help would be appreciated. I can post pictures if that will help.
