scootn', now go ask her if she wouldn't love wearing that pink jacket. And ask yourself--wouldn't you love seeing her wear it? Adorable, I tell you. >'Kat Alright! Enough already with the pink jacket...I was just playing. I don't expect my wife or I will be wearing it, or anything like it in the near future. I have to have some dignity. Ahh that moment when the money hits. Mine hit on a rainy day. Didn't matter though. I still rode it home. And loved every scary moment! Bigggroovy...That was the initial plan....then I broke my arm, plans changed. I figured the 25 bucks for a Uhaul trailer was worth it And btw, CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks

She would be a super hot in that jacket. That's why I don't need to think about Dan wearing it... Are you with me now? No, poor danno never actually said he would be wearing it. I'm the one who's kept putting him in it. Him and rocky, but that's a different thread there. It's because it's super hot and totally adorable that I'm teasing you guys about wearing it. And so wishing I owned it myself. Dang it's cute! ***** Meanwhile, today's the day, isn't it danno? Don't you DARE forget your camera. Pictures, buddy, lots of pictures. From all sides. Tell the seller you've a bunch of SDawgs rabid for pics! And if you have a smart phone, then do a running account--"on our way" "got lost, back en route" "OMG I JUST SAW IT IT'S SO DANG BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!"--that kind of thing. Have a great fun awesome day! >'Kat

Btw, yesterday I bought full coverage insurance for the bike. I'm paying $32 a month. How does that compare to what you all pay? I particularly interested in those who own Maxi Scoots
Just curious

Wow $30 a month I just run liability never priced full. I pay like $9.50 a month. They wanted $20 month for just liability coverage. I wonder why the difference between your $9.50 and my $20? Maybe because the weather here is more suitable for riding all year...even though you ride all year no matter....

I pay about $87 for the whole year, full coverage minus personal injury. That would bump the price way up.
And I've patience, danno. I just thought a running commentary would be fun. Esp when you first see it. You're gonna' go all girly on us and totally go squee then, I'm betting....

What else is new? A week or two ago I bought a trailer hitch for my car so I could use a UHaul trailer to get the bike. The hitch is rated for 2000 pounds but my car is only rated for 1000 pounds. I thought i was good since the bike weighs 400 pounds. When I pulled up to the UHaul place this morning the guy looks at my car and says you can't use that to pull the motorcycle trailer. Long story short, the trailer itself weighs 1250 pounds. The guy was convinced I'd ruin my car if I used it. So, I had to come up with another plan. My sister and brother in law are in from Austin for my nieces birthday which is today. They have a big pick up truck. The new plan is to pick up the trailer in the morning with their truck and drive up to Dallas and back all in one day. Can't wait to see what happens that throws a wrench into these plans!!

This weekend has been cancelled! Un-stinking-believable! My sister in law calls my wife up and tells us she just remembered the truck has a universal joint issue and she doesn't want to risk me breaking down with it on the way to or from Dallas. She plans on getting it fixed this week...so I can use it next weekend. I'm done!

Just rent a truck and go danno
Home Depot and uhaul will do it and you won't need a trailer.

I agree with scootn'. Just make sure you get the U-haul that comes with the loading ramps. THe littlest ones don't.
Or do you know anyone at all that rides? Ask one of them to go with you and ride your new scoot home. Or else someone besides your in-laws with any big enough vehicle with a hitch? Offer them dinner or even pay them.
Surely there's other options besides having to wait 'til next weekend.
That more than bites, danno. That out'n'out sux. i'm sorry for you. Way frustrating, I know.

Did you know UHaul wants $29 a day for their trucks PLUS 99 CENTS a mile! It's 620 miles round trip. That's over $700 bucks after tax. No thanks.....I'll wait...besides, it's not as if I can ride it now anyway. I considered buying this houston.craigslist.org/mcy/3629192994.htmlThen put it back on Craigslist once I got back I'll wait

Looks like a nice rig there danno...still thinking about buying it? It's perfect! If I were going to spend $6 or $7 hundred dollars on renting a truck, I might as well buy this trailer instead, and "save" a few hundred. That's how I sold the idea to my wife anyway! ;D I spoke to the guy over the phone and he said he's selling it because he rarely uses it. He said he too has a 4 cylinder car and you hardly know its there it's so light. I really was thinking of pulling the trigger on it but, I have to start thinking about stop spending so much money on myself! I mean, I have a family and I've spent thousands on me only lately. It's likely my wife is sacrificing a nice vacation because of my spending choices. Anyway, when I had her sister on speaker phone last night she made the reasonable case of me not having to spend another $3 or $400 dollars if I just had some "patience" (there's that word again!)and waited another week so she can get the truck dealt with. When my wife heard there was a solution which involved me not having to spend a few more hundred dollars, I had to go with it. If I were a single guy, I'd probably would have bought it, but, I'm not. I can't always be selfish. Anyway, for some reason it's just good to get all this frustration off my chest. I'm looking forward to the day all of this is behind me. On second thought...this is probably just the beginning of what one side of owning a bike is about...I sure hope the other side, the enjoyment of riding it makes up for it!

First danno, you are being a good life-partner to your wife in understanding what's she's given up for you, and in you giving up for her. ...I sure hope the other side, the enjoyment of riding it makes up for it! It will, hon', it will. Until you pooch your knee workman's comp and figure out it's probably not the best idea to ride 'til that's all taken care of, sigh.... >'Kat

Looks like a nice rig there danno...still thinking about buying it? As i kept thinking about it...it looks like the ideal trailer for my situation. It's light weight, a lot lighter than most utility trailers. I have a class 1 hitch, so I need something this light..the challenge is convincing my wife! She went for it! Did I mention I have the most wonderful wife in the world? I do !
