dang everybody anywhere south has been getting a taste of rare wintry mixes this year, which is really strange considering how unprecedented the heat was in 2012. We're about to have our 3rd or 4th bit of sleet & freezing rain tonight of the year in NC! The last few years we usually don't see any all winter, this time last year it was in the mid-70's!!!

One Christmas my kids went to Texas ten minutes from Mexico . Christmas Day it was 100 degrees and yet it snowed the next day .
I have ridden offroad motorcycles in the snow which was fun if its dry powder but here if we get any snow it often melts and refreezes into ice which is unsafe to ride on even in a 4x4 .
In SC if we get a sprinkle of snow one would think its loaded with LSd as so many people go nuts and the bread , milk and eggs is cleared off of the shelves in grocery stores

I used to have to drive through several feet of snow down the mountain to college like every week during the winter...
