My 150cc Taotao ATM150-A Evo has a slight shudder when accelerating from a stop. The shudder only lasts a second or two as it picks up speed, then it's smooth. I just got the bike last month in Jan 2013, and I thought it (the slight shudder) was normal until I saw a couple of posts on the forum. Is this normal, or should I make an adjustment?

Are you being easy on takeoff ? It could just be the clutch engaging . Try taking off with more throttle as you can not hurt it by taking off fast unless its worn out and you have a passenger . Being too easy on the takeoff will have the bell slip on the shoes which can cause glaze to build up as the shoes are not fully against the bell .
It is normal to go from standing still at idle and feel the CT engage when you take off

That sounds like just the clutch engaging, If your worried about it just take off the side cover and remove and clean the clutch then scuff the pads a bit and the inside of the clutch bell with some medium grit sandpaper (400-600 grit) and that should solve the problem for a while.
