There exist those of us who have learned these lessons the hard way.
You could join us by learning these lessons yourself, either the hard way or by reading.
But you don't have to think of yourself as stupid, we've all been there.
It is a balance with all air-cooled engines, between power, top speed, and engine temperature.
It just doesn't matter, 150cc's gives you this much power and no more.
And as soon as the engine gets hot, your top end levels out.
You can drop high performance stuff into it, and it heats up faster.
The hotter it gets, the slower you go.
No matter what.
Everything affects that engine's temperature.
The heavier you are, the hotter the day, the slower the scoot.
We're talking I can see you in summer doing 44mph up a hill wide open.
And if the speed limit's 55 you got cars barreling up your rear.
And the scooter's always giving it all she's got, this means eventual trouble.
Constant full throttle runs are not good for the engine, you don't drive your car with the pedal to the metal all the time, do you, and if you did, what do you think would happen?
Even Vespa's won't stand up to it, they're just not made for that type of cruising.
You might consider hunting on Ebay for a decent used 500cc or so motorcycle.
Look long and hard, you can get a nice one for about two thousand dollars.
