If you bought a Honda (Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki) straight from the factory in the box, and just unpacked it and rode it....YOU WOULD HAVE A LOT OF THE SAME PROBLEMS. If you don't want to do a complete PDI yourself, then pay the markup at a B & M dealer and let them do it. Don't order it online and have it shipped to you at half the cost at a dealer, then bitch about it when stuff falls off cause you didn't do a PDI. NO DEALER ANYWHERE will let a vehicle go out the door without a thorough PDI by a certified mechanic. So don't cut corners and then complain when things fail. THE FAULT IS YOURS!!!

You put the handlebars right install the battery, check the wheels (and they are almost always right), set the controls to spec, add oil, wash it, and go. Occasionally an idle adjustment is necessary. We never had to tear all the plastics down to the frame on a GoldWing for any reason let alone the Pre Delivery Inspection...

I'm not complaining about the chinese products. We know they perform sub par to our standards of QC. I do complain about the company where I ordered them (superiorpowersports), which should have done the PDI. I pay $69 for a PDI to be done, thus, I expect the PDI to be done when I pay them to do it! If things are falling out of my bike, it means it's not done. Then I might as well get the money I paid for the PDI back, don't you think?
But in the end, it's just the exhaust bolts that fell off. I had the same on my BMS 260. So if nothing else rattles off, it's not too bad.

Trust me, a dealers idea of what constitutes a proper PDI and what knowledgable scoot rider would consider one to be are two different things entirely.

Depends on the dealer. How much time have you spent in a motorcycle service department.
Any rider is still always responsible for his own daily safety check of course, starting on day 1

Personally I don't trust anything I have not checked myself. (i don't care what anyone says.)

Ok with that qualification I completely wholeheartedly agree with you

Indeed. Still, there's some reluctance to check everything. The basic parts are ok, but like on the BMS, when all screws start vibrating off the plastics, and there are over 200 of them, then the fun is just over. Somewhere, the chinese make the product generally good enough, if one or two screws fall out, there's perhaps some ticking or cracking, or rattling sound, but nothing too bad. Even on jap or USA bikes there's something like this (like when a screw gets loosened and one part is ticking against the other when riding)...
The worst fear is that if it happens to one screw, it can happen to all of them. But, more than likely, if it happens to one screw, it'll happen to a few others.

That's why you go over the speed nuts in the body panels with silicone caulking, it keeps things from rattling apart.
Regular bolts get blue loctite
Engine/exhaust bolts, Loctite high heat thread locker
(Then the only thing that Shakes rattles and rolls is you.)

You may be right about that. My experience with Honda dates back to the early 80's, so things may have definitely changed since then.
