Since I have my scooter running again I noticed a exhaust leak. I looked under the machine and one of the mounting bolts for the exhaust pipe is broken off. Can this be driiled out or is a new manifold the cure? If it's the R/R manifold, how expensive is it and how hard is it to replace?

If there is even a little of the stud left, I would try using a stud remover socket instead of drilling. Alas, if its flush with the head, you have no option bot to drill. Good luck!

would make a good time to buy a new head, or make use of reverse drill bit dont forgot to grind bolt flat and center punch it ,so the drill bit doesnt walk around or take to machine shop..

You could also try to weld a nut to the remaining stud if it is flush or close to flush then just turn it out.

the stud is removable, you may be able to just grab it with vice grips ones the pipe is off.

Vise grips are the only things I can think of you can get down there and try, reverse drill bits just slip and slide around, welding a nut around an aluminium head is likely to create a headache as well thou I might see it as a last resort, a stud remover socket might work if you can find one small enough, every other tool just won't fit... I tried to drill mine out and re-tap the hole but there's not much clearance and oil passages flow right behind and aside the hole itself, guess what, I got a stud in there and then the oil started to leak. So then I had to replace the head itself, which wasn't too bad except the valves. It costs another $30 for a cylinder head with valves already installed. I saved my $30 but it's rather royal to diy The good news is, the engine doesn't have to come out. Oh, and you'll need a gasket set as well One Two Three more things... In the future, those exhaust nuts need to be removed and re-installed once a month so as to prevent them from seizing due to rust (oh yes, mhm) and to make sure they haven't worked themselves loose and... Make SURE to NEVER tighten those nuts without a Torque Wrench! (Or you'll risk breaking the studs, requiring you replace the cylinder head) Set to 8 ft. lbs.
