Hi Terri I was born the year that JFK was assassinated so don't remember that first hand , but they continued to run those duck and cover warnings and drills in my school until the early 70s Take care and ride safely deafr friend Yours Hank

I don't ever remember seeing that video , I started school in like 1975 , they taught us the shelter drill . We all went into the hall ways and sat indian style head down next the wall . The ringing of the bell was different . I think by like before 1980 they stopped that .

Anybody remember the "duck and cover" drills? ...or the teacher practicing opening all the windows to equalize the pressure inside and outside the classroom due to the shock wave from a "newkler" blast? Hi Yes indeed i do my friend I can remember watching this in school and practicing the duck and cover Take care and ride safely Yours Hank What they didn't tell us was that a 20 megaton blast would have vaporized the school building, the desks, (my peanut butter and jelly sandwich) not to mention us!

Born 1972 here guess i am in the middle...My "fondest" memory was the tornado drills while riding a bus....If a tornado comes we were to exit bus and lay in our stomaches in the ditch......Always pictured 50 kids flying through the air then crashing to the ground while the bus set still and not damaged...LOL
