It is my understanding that if you turn your key on and the headlight comes on you have a DC based bike. On the other hand if the bike has to be running for the headlight to come on then it is an AC based bike. AC CDI's are smaller than a DC based CDI. That is not correct, my 150 is AC BUT all my lights are powered from the battery directly. Just turn the key on and all the gauges work the instruments light come on and I have a Light Switch on the right handgrip and can turn my headlights on and or running lights the whole tamale. Sam on the chinese scooters they don't follow any standard . John

That is correct, when someone asks is it DC or AC, they are asking if the CDI is DC or AC Fired, has nothing to do with the lights. Sam

yea those other forums have the best super techs when it comes to electrical and diagrams and , like you, some of the 'bosses' will call you and walk you through something good people nobody walked me through my final drive problems, i had to take it on the head. there were a few that gave me some great tips though. like using a piece of cardboard to hold the bolts in the correct pattern after removal. that tip alone probably saved a few stripped threads. almost all of what i know of my final drive comes from experience.
