Has anyone bought parts from this vendor ? My stock oil pump fizzled and once again soft seized damn it . I do not have a Modcycles account and have their 75cc BBK 2T 47.6mm and I would really only need the rings and gaskets and reuse the piston , block and head . I found this piston kit which is the same as my BBK shop.jupiterscooters.net/Piston-kit-10mm-for-75cc-Performance-kits-minarelli-MGMP-75PISTON-10MM.htm and I saw Scrappydog has a 47.6mm gasket kit . Scrappy also has a 47.6mm piston kit but unsure if the ports would line up with my cylinder
I have bought a Mikuni oil pump and will set it to be a lil heavy on the oil to avoid ANOTHER soft seize and will ALWAYS add some 2T oil in the gas tank to be safe . If you also want to replace your 2T oil pump with a Mikuni like me you will need a new throttle cable part # 159-26 . Here is a thread of avoiding a soft seize and oil pump adjustment 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=yamajog&action=display&thread=3151 . The Mikuni is adjustable where many stock pumps . I have seen another oil pump that uses different end caps to adjust the oil flow but the vendor was not in the USA
Yes I know premix is a safer option as I did with many pedal mopeds and my off road motorcycles . I had a Tomos Golden Bullet that the pump died and I was lucky I noticed it was not smoking from exhaust like it used to . Cheap 2T oil sometimes would leave a skinny com trail which was good as it showed the engine was getting oil . The synthetic stuff my scooter only smokes at startup for a few minutes and barely a vapor when warm . When it was a 49cc I had a small Uni vent cover ( smaller than the Uni air filter ) and went from a 75 MJ I used with airbox and replaced with a 90 MJ . Plug chop was great just a hair rich ( I prefer to be a lil rich than dead on it to be safe ) . I put on the big red Uni airfilter after oiling it and started it up . I only had a very small bog with no hesitation and it was running the same as before . It was in the upper 90s in temperature . I went down the street maybe a 1/4 to 1/2 mile turned around and dang it the engine soft seized locking up the rear wheel for a second or two and I hit the brakes fast . It would not restart . I pushed it home to let it cool down and try restarting it . No good . Pushing down the kick start by hand I could feel I had lost compression . I pulled the NGKBR7HIX plug and WTF it had melted the tips together . I have never had that happen to me before even with so many two wheelers I have owned . The rings were fried and piston was scarred . The block looks ok and I plan on rebuilding it with a 40mm or 49cc piston kit after porting the exhaust port a lil and more so after testing how a lil does first . I can always remove more material later if desired and using JBWeld to fill in ports may not be as easy as it sounds . In theory it sounds simple but I would be foolish to think I would not have to make mistakes in order to learn what not to do as I did by slacking on not replacing the oil pump . I enjoy the convenience of the oil tank as a 4 liter tank only lasts 80 to 120 miles with the 49cc and 60 to 90 with the BBK . I had a Honda Spree that I drove for 2 years and I only replaced the forks and front tire since it was bought wrecked , install a NGK iridium , cleaned air filter and changed the gear lube . I thought it was shaft or chain driven and did not know if it even had a belt as I never had a problem or needed to service it . The previous owners father yelled out that he spent over 300 in upgrades ( in 1990 dollars ) as he was mad his son sold it to me for 100 dollars . He had just gotten a brand new car and lost all interest in the scooter . I loved it so much as to one of the reasons I decided to get back into scootering as I hated spending 70 a week to put gas in a van
Sorry for being so long . So in short anyone ever buy from Jupiter Scooters before ?
