I have a new 50cc taotao scooter that has a wicked bounce at most any speed.
in other words the handle grips move way more than the road does as im crusing.
is this tires, shocks, wheel balance, engine ??? pulling ???, or slipping transmission. or something i need to call the dealer on?

Thetires are not balanced so you can get them balanced or try the balance beads

Check the nuts on the triple tree, may need to remove all the plastic around handle bars, i had to lock tight mine down they just kept coming loose, and when loose the front end is very unstable... After that the easiest and cheapest option is tire beads, i just poured 2.5g off 6mm copper bbs into the tires during my last tire change, if you have a straight tire valve the actual tire beads are supposed to pour right in Check your tripple tree then, check out tire beads, much cheaper than having the tire balanced and allot of people find tem more effective, as they continue to balance as the tore wears Good luck

I know you said it was new. Did you check the tire pressure? Also look at the rim and tire while spinning it. If it is a T-3 make sure the handlebar mounting bolt is tight. Many t-3's also came from the factory with a bent rear rim.

The handle grips shouldn't be moving relative to the body. If they're wobbling it's likely a loose steering stem. The steering should turn smoothly without resistance when on the scooter is on the centerstand and front wheel off the ground. If you can feel it wobble or move back and forth it's loose.

Unbalanced the tire will wobble on the CS where mine are balanced no wobble and smooth

About 95% of the tires on a new Chinese scooter are out of balance. Most are tolerable but some are unrideable. You can try replacing the tires. Or you can take them to a tire place and get them balanced with weights. Sometimes a loose triple tree or handlebar can cause the bounce, but most likely its the tires.

Hi guys:
I sloved the tire bounce problem with a new tire.
dealer would not warrenty and mfg is no where to be found so $55 later the scooter does not bounce. motorcycle shop could not balance tire and i noticed the rim is also out of round about 1/16.
tire had taller side wall in one area this caused the bounce.
took wheel mounted shaft in vice and spun by hand and notice the tire moving up and down
so Kongdau tires are junk if your scooter comes with them be aware
