My wife's best friend is a nurse, she was working the ER on the early shift (in at 2am) on Christmas eve last year. Maybe 3am, a guy came in looking like he had tried to wrestle a barbed-wire fence. (Not as unusual as you might think in an ER at 3am.) He was covered in scratches, two of which needed stitches and all of which needed to be cleaned and, in her words, "very intoxicated". (Also not that unusual in an ER at 3am.) She finally got the story from him: he bought a 30-pack the night before after work. He was off Christmas eve, so he was relaxing. After an undetermined (but considerable) number of beers, he decided to show Christmas spirit by...decorating his cat. As you can guess, the cat objected. Strenuously.
