UNI tend to fit better for the 50cc motors. Both seem to flow about the same amount (more than the motor requires). UNI are much more cost effective. I would personally say that K&N filters more dust but it requires a bit more maintenance.

Used a K-N on my old Urban Express, using a UNI on my old Aero50. But have never tried the two different ones on the same bike. I like the uni better, easier to clean + I got a 16x16 sheet of it for 17$, that will probably last me forever. I do like K n N's in the cars tho.

Yoshi, are you talking about the uni stock replacement?
I think pretty much all the aftermarket filters are the same... unless you're riding in dusty conditions, it won't matter that much IMO

A K&N has a higher flow rate if thats what youre asking for but allows more particulate matter through and is highly not recommended for dusty areas unless youre going to oil it every week. I have uni, kn, malossi, polini, stage 6, 3 different narukus, BMC, and hiflofiltros. Power wise Malossi is the best for power and filtration, stage 6, polini, kn, naraku box type 2 then uni. This is the line up for flow and filtration. There are many "models" for each manufacturer and I only used race filters. Get a uni if you have to but I would go for a malossi or the more readily available stage 6. After 3-4 changes of filters my polini has become odd shaped and I no longer will use it. Just make sure you oil any of those filters properly, its the single most important thing to do. It can and will effect your performance.

I have a k&n on my roketa and a uni on my tapout scoot i know the uni filter makes the scooter sound better than the k&n.
