I am thinking of buying a BBK for my 2T and I have found one by airsal or something like that, If I were to do a BBK, and a 19mm Carb what else do I need to change? I live in VA, Kind of hilly, not much flat straight aways or anything. Do I need to change around the CVT? Do i NEED a pipe? How about air filters? Just need to know before I buy something, then have to spend a fortune getting it to work right I also see people talking about gearing? What gearing?

You know what they say "Once you go BBK you never go back!" ;D When I installed my first BBK I had hell trying to get it to run right. Didn't know much back then. Bare minimum you will need to get a lager jet set for your stock carb if the carb is not sealed up. I would recommend a bigger carb though. 19-21mm Dellorto are the easiest to tune. Also a unrestricted pipe. I use a Stage6 Pro Replica. Also you will need to re-tune the CVT to the new found power of the BBK. I'm sure others on this forum can give you some helpful tips and advice too. I am probably a noob compared to some of the guys on here with many years of experience. www.49ccscoot.com is also a great forum. I am on ScootDawg & 49ccscoot.com

i dont understand alot of this either but you can change your roller/slider weights to get a bit more speed or torque.
gearing ? inside your CVT there are , well for the use of a better word, gears {sprockets} you can change them up to get a few more mph.
for specifics, well you will have to wait for mechanics to answer but i hope this helps a bit

i live in staunton va,wanted to see how close you were, to answer your question yes you can put a bbk on up jet and use all of your stock part if needed but to get the max out of the bbk pipe would help a lot and to apply your power to the ground you need to tune the cvt to your power band and rpm range, with the 2t its all about getting everything to click together, but i know a lot of scoots that are all stock except the bbk and they are plenty happy with that

If your going to use oil injection I would replace the pump with a Mikuni pump and you will need part # 156-29 throttle cable . Yes a pipe will help you have more RPMs than the stock one . I had 5 grams in my 2T when it was a 50 and ordered 8 gram sliders since it has RPMs higher than the 49cc . Here is an article on 2T exhaust 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=exhausted&action=display&thread=1391 If you can afford it get a Leo Vince HM70 . Now with the Aluminum Air Sal kit make sure the jetting id good as if you hav ea soft seize its fried where an iron block may be forgiving . A Uni airfilter will help it suck in more air than the airbox but will need upjetting . I also ordered 1.5 clutch and contra springs and this part that with smooth your shifting eshop.mainelyscooters.com/by-brand/hoca/169-281A 19 will work but the power kits come with a 21mm . Should you go with a 21mm you will need a larger intake and this may work eshop.mainelyscooters.com/by-brand/hoca/169-125I would get a new belt with a BBK if you have a longcase like me than n most use a 788 Bando here www.scrappydogscooters.com/50cc_2stroke_Performance.html

I will be installing the coil and wire combo from Scrappy and for sparkplug get a NGK8BRHIX but some may opt for the 7 which is a hotter temp plug

Forgot to say the single ring kits have less friction and able to hit a higher RPM with matched pipe and a 2 ring will last longer .Now some use 10mm wristpins others 12mm Our knowledge database is growing, but we know a few things. Adly's and Hammerheads are 10, so are the Italian Minarelli engines like Malaguti, Italjet, Beta, and Aprillia. The 12mm pin is found on later CDI's, chinese JOG-2T, Vento Triton. These engines are poplular in 2-stroke full size scooters and ATVs such as Malaguti, Yamati, United Motors X-Speed, Aprilla, CPI, Benelli, Vento, Eton, Adly and many more. Italian made units tend to use 10mm pins (Chinese JOG 2T clones tend to use 12mm) please measure and check before ordering. Certain brands such as CPI / United Motors / Muz older models used 10mm newer post 2004 use 12mm. All Italian made models use the 10mm such as Aprilia / Malaguti / Italjet that are Yamaha Minarelli based. Probably the most accurate, without complete disassembly, is to measure the inside diameter of your variator pulley. If it is 21mm, your wrist pin is 12mm. If it is 18mm, your wrist pin is 10mm. You can also count the number of splines on the outer variator face where it mates with the crank. The smaller 18/10mm crank has 17 splines, the larger 21/12mm crank has 15. The larger crank was originally designed for the JOG90 engine, but comes in 50cc too. Also, don't confuse your Minarelli 2stroke with the Franco Morini type two stroke found in TGB R5 Laser, Key West, 101S, the Suzuki Address, and some Italjets. These kits are also available from Scrappydogs, as they are authorized dealers for TGB products. Hope this helps. Mo Will need snap ring pliers for the wristpins and put in at an angle and compression ring pliers . I got bougt at Oreillys do not get the ones at Harbor Freight they will not work on a piston that small . Make sure to lube the inside of the cylinder as well as piston and rings before you put them together . The arrow on top of the piston goes towards the exhaust . I put in one wristpin clip and then slide in the wristpin with the piston connected to the rod so that you only have to insert one wristpin with it in the scooter instead of having the room like when its in your hand Read this if using oil pump 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=yamajog&thread=3151&page=1 I would also ad some 2T oil to the gas to be safe as extra oil will just make it smoke but at least not burn up If you do not get a HP intake at least get FG or CF reeds . After reading Teddys ( I think ) bad mishap with stock metal reeds , its cheap to replace the reeds with some that are more flexible and if the broke no metal pieces to get stuck in the crank Factory cranks should NEVER go past 9,000 to be safe even though I was told some cane handle 10,000 or 10,500 RPMs . Many HP cranks can go up to as high as 18,000 way beyond what you could hit and with roller bearings instead of ball bearings . There is stroker cranks which would add torque but need extra base gasket(s) so the ports line up . There is stuffer cranks with plastic to fill in voids and increase pressure . I am looking at a Stage 6 crank with metal instead of plastic filling .Here is some high end parts www.spmotostore.com/category_s/3026.htm
