I just got a 2008 X50i and would like to know if anyone knows what is restricted on this scooter. I also would like to know what size main jet does it have? Do i need to use a freeflow airfilter if i upjet the carb without adding a 70cc upgrade. I just want to make sure the scooter don't lean burn at full throttle with the stock jet. Should clip the needle up one when upjetting?

Should clip the needle up one when upjetting? You should fine as you are....NOTHING is restricted on those. I owned one and it is one of the fastest production 50cc scoots made...aside from the Aprilla SR50. Right out of the crate mine did 48 GPS mph...once broken in 50-51 was easy. What speeds are you getting..and how many miles on it? Up jetting the carb most likely won't improve anything as it already tuned for performance to the specifications Mario Andretti himself was looking for. Hence the reason he endorses it with his name...owns a few...and rides them regularly as pit bikes when he attends races. A free flow filter and up jet are not going to improve anything as it is jetted for optimal performance and the airbox is not as restrictive as stock scoot airboxes already. A performance variator may give you bit of a gain...but they already come with a larger CVT with steeper and longer ramps. You are already flat out flying for a 50cc engine...so want more power and speed..a BBK and up gears in the transmission are about the only thing left to do. But of course with a BBK you will then need to up jet. They sure ride smooth don't they? The way the seat shape and seat height is designed it feels like riding a crotch rocket motorcycle.. Only reason I sold mine is due to the seat height of 34" where most scoots are 30"...and I only have a 31" inseam...so at stops I was on my 'tippie toes"

I only rode it once and is in the process of breaking it in. what kind of rollers come stock in it? I was going to add 4 gram rollers and a performance clutch. But for now i am leaving it stock till i break it in. When i rode it i didn't beat on it but it did 45 and could of did more. The seat height is something i'll get used to but i heard you can have some of the foam shaved down in the seat. The bike is a little tall for me but all you do is lean when stopped. You saying the carb is jetted to where it won't lean burn. I heard all 2 stroke slod in the US are setup to be lean for emmissions and will burn up if jet isn't changed. My first scooter was a performance 50 and burned up at wot cause the carb was setup to lean. I'm going to up the jet to be safe
