I bought a performance exhaust from a well known website. Upon recieving it, it was clear that it was the incorrect exhaust. For example the flange was about 20 degrees off flat. If it was bolted on the flange the mounting bracket was about 2" into the cooling fan. The mounting bolt holes were way too small and about an inch too close togetiher.
So very clearly the wrong exhaust. It was listed as model specific.
I returned it and was issued a partial refund less shipping. Now I'm out $20 for his shipping and $12 for mine.
I get that if it were my mistake or I just didn't want it that I eat the shipping but what do you guys think in this situation ?
I emailed but had reply.

That wasn't the issue here. If it was close I'd probably have tried to make it fit. It wasnt close at all. Looks like it was made to a print at some point then they lost it and kept copying from the last pipe til it was nowhere close. The finish and welding was realy bad. Im a machinist and would have made it fit if at all posible instead of having a non running scoot and my money tied up for two weeks.

No offense here but I think we are getting off track. Accept that it doesn't fit and the wrong part was sent. In which case as a seller would you pay for shipping on your mistake ?

Also I do have an exhaust that fits now. performance expansion. Much better finish, stainless steel. Bolted right on perfectly.

Yeah , scootnwinn, that's what I thought . Thanks. I'd do the same.I figure the guy thought I just didn't want it. Probably sent it out to someone else and will get it back again.

Was is labeled for morini or minarelli ?

Ok. Well I guess you are going to keep on asking ..... It was labelled for my make and model of scoot. Also labelled Morini. Thought I'd covered that. But to anticipate your next question No it doesn't fit a minerelli either. My friend was round with his scoot the day it arrived. He was looking to get a pipe for his scoot. A benelli minerelli. It didn't fit that either.
He was ready to place an order with the same company until he saw how poorly made mine was.

I know you said you have a morini and I do not know the diff in that vs a minarelli . I have seen some websites that list by make a model be wrong like listing 2T parts for my Echarm which is a 4T .
Both a 49cc or BBK ?

The morini and minarelli look closely related but are not the same. they both use down firing exhaust ports and top mounted carbs. The morini is a little more HP stock than the minarellis were also.

And they should pay for shipping back and to ship you the right one.

My MMG pipe says 50 to 70cc however it would not line up with the 50 but fit perfect on the 72cc

I get that if it were my mistake or I just didn't want it that I eat the shipping but what do you guys think in this situation ? consider this a lesson learned. this is one of the issues with chinese rides. not your fault, not the dealers. this is the major reason i am reluctant to order stuff online, especially stuff that is "special order" or "model specific". pictures, complete with some kind of reference, a ruler perhaps, needs to be sent with your order. regardless of what you might think dealers really do want to help you. at least you was able to return the item. i STILL have a brand new helix muffler . . .

Same here. If i sent the incorrect part then i will pay return shipping and it has happened before. Now if a customer orders someone correctly but then decides they no longer want it or decided to just return it then its the customers responsibility for return shipping.

Now if a customer orders someone correctly but then decides they no longer want it or decided to just return it then its the customers responsibility for return shipping. how do you know the diff? Like before i have sent a 6 pole stator when the customer ordered a 11 pole stator my mistake and i will pay for return shipping. It actually happened about a week ago and i corrected the mistake. Now if the customer emails me saying something like " Hey i no longer need this part or I change my mind and i want something else then its the customers responsibility for return shipping
