Hey guys, I've already posted about this scooter, but now it's running well and sounds smooth! The problem now, though, is that it isn't exceeding 20MPH. When I rev it hard to try to get it to go faster it cuts out and sounds like it turned itself off, but then kicks over again because I'm already going fast enough to start the engine again. So my question is, is this a symptom of a restricted engine? Is this what happens when my scooter hasn't been derestricted? Or could this be a carburetor problem? ( I haven't tuned my Carb yet, and I need to do that. Or is it something entirely different that I'm not considering due to inexperience with 2 stroke engines? The scooter does start extremely easily, with the very first kick.
So, any help here would be great!
Thanks!

How do you reach your max speed? Like you open the throttle, and within a few seconds reach 20MPH, or does it take a long time to get to 20?
With a 50cc I'd say you're very quick at 20. If that's the case, it may be that the engine is not taxed enough at top speed, a bit like a car, rev it in neutral, and the limiter kicks in ~4k RPM. Drive it, and it can go to 6 or 7k RPM.
I'd say get a better CVT or gear ratio to go faster. One that's about twice the gear ratio you have right now. Then try to upgrade the jets or other parts of the engine.

Mine had the same prob.
Would start right up but not go more than 7mph, bogging out.
My main jet had a piece of glass or sand in it. Cleaned it out and ran great again.
You might want to check to be sure the jets aren't clogged up with something.

i think your float height isnt correct and you are running out of fuel and when scooter dies it fills back up n runs again just guessing here

I go full throttle and reach 20MPH within maybe 5 seconds, it accelerates pretty quickly but stops at 20mph. And I just put a new Carb in it, would the float and jets be an issue then? I've had terrible luck with carburetors, and I wouldn't be surprised to find out that something is wrong with this one.

yeah i would of cleaned it and make sure there is a proper size in and yes i wouldn't doubt that u would have to adjust the float height on a new carb

Your CVT or gearing needs to be tuned to your engine. Looks to me that the rollers may either be too light, or your CVT does not allow the full potential of your machine to come out.
