Keep it clean and waxed . Only dummies ride without a helmet Not in FL! I have never been to FL but I can only assume that everything isn't made of rubber and lined with feather pillows... They call helmetless riders "organ doners" at the hospital. The best riders in the world including this year's Superbike Champion wear helmets. If these guys do on the track when they are all riding the same direction you would think a professional would advocate it in the chaos of the street. No matter how good you are you may one day need a helmet when I used to desert race they would always say "There are 2 kinds of desert racers; those that have wrecked and those that will" They would also say"Its not how you ride its how your wreck that wins the race" If you are "good" you will reach the edge of the bike's limits constantly and occasionally you will cross that line. What you're wearing will decide your fate. Prodigit please if you want to put it all on the line that's fine you have that right. Please don't encourage others to as well or indicate that someday when they too are good they reach the magic no need for helmets zone... If your just trolling don't do it when it could cost someone their life, that's just not cool

Hi Have used a cover when my motorbikes need to be kept out in the elements for many years with out any adverse effects in fact my all of motorbikes look brand new still to this day In wet weather it keeps them dry and in sunny weather protects the body panels from fading and the seat from drying and cracking Theres no bad and only good when using a cover imho Bike cover 005 by inuyasha50, on Flickr Cover 003 by inuyasha50, on Flickr And for more protection theres these www.cycleshell.com/Take care and ride safely Yours Hank

Well... here's an update. I took the motorcycle safety class this past weekend and passed it just fine. Went to the DMV yesterday and got my motorcycle endorsement added to my license. After I got home, I took the scooter out for a ride. I tried to avoid the busier roads so I could get a feel for the handling. I took it through it's paces and made sure I didn't ride at one throttle position for long and made sure to go through the whole range of throttle. I'm a little disappointed at how long it takes to reach 55 mph. It gets up to about 48 quickly and then slowly inches up to 55, and then very very slowly will inch up to about 58 which is where it seems to top out at full throttle. I didn't expect it to go 70 mph or anything, but I had hoped that I could go 55 mph without maxing out the throttle. I was going to replace the spark plug with an NGK, so I removed the plug in it, and was surprised to see that it already has an NGK spark plug, so I just put it back in. Funny story - When I removed the seat to take out the spark plug, I found this little guy had hitched a ride. I had gone about 2 miles down the road to Advance Auto Parts. I bought an oil pan, a quart of oil, and a funnel and I plan on replacing the oil at around 50 miles (currently at 38). After this oil change though I'll let them replace the oil at the scheduled times since I can't make a warranty claim if something goes wrong if they don't have proof that the scooter was maintained. Once my year warranty is up though I'll be doing it myself. A quart of oil is about $5; they charge $24 (probably plus disposal fees and taxes) for an oil change. I've only driven my scoot a really short distance, but so far I love it.

Right on you are now an official provisional member of the hardcore scooter dudes. Cool lizard pic. Also after your ready to void your warranty there are ways to help wit your speed issue. It will get a bit better once its broken in. My 150 gets to 50 or so then takes a bit to get to 58ish (AKA top speed). It is faster than my the 1980 Toyota Tercel I sold to buy it.

Acceleration will only improve over time, as the rollers wear out.
