Hey all, I HAVE to get somewhere about 3 hours (50cc) scooter drive away TONIGHT.
I have made this ride before from 2am - 5am on a Friday night before but I was wandering what y'all thought is the safest time of the night to drive, if you do have to drive at night.
It is about 8pm here and I wont be able to leave until about 10pm.
My thoughts: Friday night in an largely populated area
10pm - 12am...Tons of people on the road..... but hopefully all sober and alert (just going out for the night).
12am - approx 2:30am: Few people on road....but probably mostly drunk or less alert.
2:30am - sunrise: Nobody on the roads.....but the one or two that might pass me will be the least alert
I have made my scooter highly visible for night riding, I wear all the safety gear, and a good portion of my ride I can keep to the roads less traveled but the first 45 mins and the last 45mins are both in highly populated areas.
What are yalls tips for night driving and when is the best time?

I try not to ride on Friday nights at all. definitely the earlier the better in my opinion

I would rather take my chances with the drunks than with rush hour road rage and texting idiots.
My preference is whenever traffic is lightest - gives you more escape routes to plan for.

When you see a car in your mirror flash the brake light once or twice to be (more) sure they see you. I like the wee hours too.
