Again I bring this up since a few roads near me have been grooved or the top layer was shaved off in order to be resurfaced again . Last night a long time friend wiped out on a grooved surface last night . Hes is ok just scabbed up and embarrassed but it could have been worse . I try to avoid any road like that if possible and do no go faster than 30 MPH over them . Avoid the deeper grooves and plan on it going zig zag when you ride across it .

Just as bad..are these d@mn steel corrugated bridges we have up here...DOT claims they are safe....yet when ya cross one with a scoot..your tires follow every groove and you are all over the place...even into oncoming traffic. DOT is nuts...safe for a car maybe..but NOT 2 wheels..even a bicycle..

Yep. You really get to know how bad our roads are when you ride a narrow tire 2 wheeler. I gather the big fat HD wheels are a bit more stable but I had a freind drop one of those over perhaps a tablespoon of gravel.

I would WARN folks about pea gravel on paved roads. Week..month or so later..they came back wanting to order new panels...and themselves bandaged up like a mummy. I avoid pea gravel like the plague...go around it. Funny..yet not so funny...are those that hit potholes and crash. Then say.."Crazy...I drive my truck/car etc. down that road everyday...I never have a problem"... hmm let's see 10 inch scooter tires..truck has 36" tall 'Mudder' tires...gee I don't get it either..

FWIW I may not have as much of a problem due to my bigger Aeolus 300 but when I hit the grooved pavement here (and it dips, goes up and down around corners) I just ride it out and have no problems. I must say though that the grooves aren't headed toward oncoming traffic.
